Kirk doesn't sound like a musician talking. He sounds like a kid that found something fantastic and can't stop talking about it. Pure passion.

Rick is archiving the thoughts and words of important musicians for posterity. A real cultural archive.

I don't know how anybody can hate on Kirk, even if you don't like his playing. He's one of nicest and most humble rockstars we've ever had.

Kirk has such a nice way about him. He plays aggressive music & solos. But there is an uncanny tenderness about him which I've always found extremely endearing. The way he said that in his last show he would make sure to try and make eye contact/acknowledge people from every age group was just a beautiful to thing to hear. What a great guy, and so extremely humble and grateful for it all.

It’s always a pleasure to hear Kirk talking and telling stories without Lars interrupting

It's great to hear Kirk be able to complete sentences and articulate his thoughts without being interrupted by Lars or James.

Hearing Kirk talk, makes me want to be able to give him a hug when he hears about all his criticism. Sounds like such, such a sweet person

It’s no surprise Rick is able to pull such legendary guests. Rick is a legend himself.

Rick, I must thank you for this. As a lifelong Metallica fan, Kirk is one of the main reasons I picked up the guitar. I’ve never seen an interview where he is as relaxed and comfortable as this one. Usually when he’s interviewed with his band mates, he’s quiet and reserved. It’s nice to see him speak so much and share his thoughts. Thank you Rick!

In 83 I had just turned 17. I was in my first band. We played Maiden and Priest songs. Sabbath!!! KILL EM ALL CAME OUT. Changed my path forever. I'm still gigging heavy music. Kirk =legend

I am a little bit surprised at how intelligent, humble, thankful and truely kind that Kirk Hammett is.

This was a great interview.

He held back tears multiple times. He's true to himself and speaks from the heart.

This is the best interview I have ever seen with Kirk. Rick’s style of letting the respondee talk without interruption is so rewarding, plus his knowledge about music and tech... Without Lars and James in the room taking over the conversation you see the multitude of depths in this old hero of mine since 35 years back. Now I see why Brian May was nervous about being interviewed by Rick! 👍🏻

Love this interview. Kirk always comes across as salt of the earth, a kind and genuine human, no attitude. Born to a Filipina mother and white-American father and raised in working-class El Sobrante in the San Francisco East Bay, he's never forgotten his roots. I'm so glad Kirk's alive in the world! It also makes sense that he and Rob Trujillo are great pals.

To me, Kirk is one of the most like-able musicians ever 💯

He never stopped being a kid. Super humble dude who is clearly beyond grateful for the blessings he was given.

I love this new phase of Rick, doing all these great interviews. We might not realise now, but in 20-30 years from now, when most of these musicians will not be playing or not be around anymore, this will be pure gold. This is an historical document as important as their records.

I just love this moment from (55:50). Just watching two old school metalheads, headbanging gentlemanly to the song, simultaneously. It truly made me giggle like was 17 again.
