Well now we know why chihuahuas are so mean. We always thought they were just evil but.... They have every right to hate us in all fairness.

A mutt showed up at my house 11 years ago. Just walked into my garage and never left. She is the best behaved, happiest, and healthiest dog my family has ever owned.

One of the last lines. She was just so fed up, “GIMME THE PUPPY.” And he just immediately hands it over I love this show

Who actually finds dogs with squished noses cute? I've always thought while seeing pictures "WTF Happened to that nose?".

Can we just talk real quick about how the term "mutt" is supposed to be an insult? They are the healthier breeds, and yet they get a name that instantly connotes a bad dog. Why?

I heard a veterinarian say the same thing. She said she wished people would stop breeding them because of how much they suffer. She spoke especially about the bull dog.

I had a dog my entire childhood who was a crossover between 2 breds. The vet always told us that he will live 10 years. He lived 16, surviving 2 cancers, a lung disease, a traffic accident, and chocolate.
That was some kind of a dog...

My family has generally had mutts in the family. And they are the best part of waking up .

It breaks my heart because Corgis and Golden Retrievers are some of my favorite breeds, but Adam's right. Breeding "pure bred" dogs like that is borderline animal abuse.

Also, hearing about 60% of golden retrievers dying from cancer makes me wanna cry god damnit

My family has a 9 year old mutt and he's never got sick once. We feed him nothing but scraps from our meals (bones, pieces of meat, leftover rice from beef stew, etc) and he always was and is extremely healthy, other than being one of the fastest and smartest dogs i've ever met. We adopted him out of the local shelter and we all love him dearly.

Why does this feel like this has a bigger budget than the tv show?

Mutts are awesome. My grandparents had a dog that was pretty much a mix of everything and it was cute despite not being trained at all, but that was my grandparent's fault. The dog could swim like a fish, he could run very fast until a very high age and he was extremely intelligent, for example he learned how to open doors by jumping up and pressing the handle down without ever being shown how to and he would often go on extremely long walks by himself and return home. Often he walked all across the village to a water channel to take a swim there. And if he didn't like people he showed them by barking very meanly. That damn dog was officially banned from the property of a company in our town because the CEO didn't like him after he barked at him :D
He lived until it was 20, then my grandma decided to put him down because he refused to eat and he couldn't really walk stairs anymore and she lived upstairs. It was also impossible to carry him because he hated being picked up and would try to bite.
If she hadn't taken him down, that dog would have probably lived longer than everyone else in our family :D
