I would go for the .9999 maple just for the purity. Both are beautiful. Any gold is great.

I know living in the States, the American Gold Eagle is a wiser purchase. It costs a bit more than the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf, but you get a bit more on the return when sold. It’s, as you said, the most liquid Gold coin in the world. But, knowing all that, I still can’t help but love that Gold .9999 fine Maple Leaf a tad more. It’s pure 24kt Gold, whereas the Eagle is 22kt. The added Copper and Silver leave the Gold Eagle prone to spotting over time, which can eliminate any foreseen premium you might expect on resale. I know the 24kt Gold is softer, and prone to scratch, or ding easier, but if purchased new, and stored in a protective coin capsule, that should all bit eliminate this problem. The color tone of the Maple over the Eagle is so much shinier, and glossy. I guess it all comes down to personal preference. Foe me, it’s the Maple Leaf.

They’re both beautiful in their own way. I do like 9999’s fine a little more. Thank you for the channel and content. I hope you are well. 😊🎶

The better coin comes down to which one is being bought at a higher price. Both are official bullion and have similar weight in gold, so on paper they should be the same value.

I'm giving the nod to the older brush back Maple or pre 2014, but the American eagle is so classic with the marriage of copper silver and gold. Older maples win

I like my gold - pure gold, not mixed with copper and silver. 24k maple vs. 22k eagles. I buy maples.

AGE’s would be my first choice. Maples are my second.

At the end of the day gold will be gold. Interesting to keep in mind is the tax advantages of the American gold eagles as well as keep in mind that the philharmonic is also tax privileged in the US. That all being said I like the maples A LOT! But philharmonics are the best deal and get most of the advantages of the eagles without the high premiums

Of course both. One first then get the other whenever you can.💰

Hello Stacking Kat! Glad you are a part in this Gold St. GAUDENS give away! So generous of you guys! You guys obviously appreciate your veiwers & fans. Can't wait to see who wins! I like both AGE for liquidity & Maples for purity.

Eagles for me. The maple has a beautiful reverse but the Queen Elizabeth obverse leaves a lot to be desired.

I used to choose the maples over the age's . But now I want .5 and .25 age's because of the lower mintages . I like the Canadian and the Perth mint the best then the American mints

Can't go wrong with either one imo...

Just came across this video while investigating the reason for the price difference between the canadian gold maple leaf and the american gold eagle. Nice review, but...
I must disagree with your statement that the age is (more?) valuable because it is backed by the us government. Not so. Ultimately numismatic/collector preference aside, the value of ANY gold or silver coin is determined by the intrinsic value of the gold or silver from which the coin is made. Post 1964 us coins (made from stainless steel and copper?) have value because the government says they do. The face value of the coins is more than the value of the base metals from which they are made. The reverse is true for any 90% or greater gold or silver coin.
Cheers and well done.
