We have a lot in common with our Protestant brothers and sisters, and there are definitely ways we can worship together... with a couple caveats, however.

HAVE A QUESTION?! Leave it in the comments and Joel will get to it in the coming weeks!

I am Catholic and wish we could emulate the Protestants' style of fellowship. They tend to be much more active in socializing, studying the Word, and supporting one another in support groups. Vica-versa, they could learn more about Catholic Mass.

Protestant here. Communion was never about unification. Communion is soley to remember Christ's Sacrifice on the cross. Bread = His body, broken for us, and Blood = His life, poured out for us. To take something like Communion and make it about US is extremely worrying.

I dont like how a former friend thinks that the church ⛪️ is just a building and it means nothing. When the church is litterally the home of christ and it must be respected.

So should a Catholic make the sign of the cross before and after prayer in a Protestant church? Or is it a "when in Rome" type of thing?

I know this video is 4 years old but thank you, it really helped me as I have to attend a protestant service in the near future. I also realised how Catholic I am when at the end you said "and I look forward to.." and I automatically completed it with "the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come" 😄

So if they start ganging up like you said, would it be appropriate to say "this isn't how you get people to convert, i have to go..." then leave?

There's another rule, Don't visit the Westboro Baptist Church.

Growing up with Catholic parents, my parents had a very liberal-minded view on Protestants and Protestant church services. There were a couple of times where they would send us kids to Protestant retreats and we wouldn't get to go to Mass on Sunday. Their communion service would be a piece of bread and some grape juice. I remember feeling very awkward about consuming it. Definitely don't want to do that again.

What's the difference between the TLM (traditional Latin mass) and the normal mass? And why do some people go to it? #AskJoel

Cannot comment, the differences are enormous at best

How to convert in protestant religion?

Catholics who decide to attend protestant service need to be aware of the strong tactics employed in each of their services. Style of service is by design. The concert-style service and emotional music is meant to attract people in. Remember, it's not about all the bells & whistles of a service and how it makes you feel personally. Going to church should be about the praise and worship of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, and how you make him feel that you are there worshiping him. It's all about Him, not you. Lastly, be strong in your Catholic faith, because protestants will try to sow doubt about Catholic teachings.

Thank you❤️ what about if they are Muslim?

All that matters is Jesus is Lord. Jesus didn't bring religion, He brought salvation.

I live in a protestant country but I'm catholic and a lot of the nearby churches, historical churches and downright beautiful churches are protestant.

Yeah, forget the English resuscant martyrs who were tortured and executed for refusing to attend government mandated Anglican services.

Maybe it is different nowadays but certainly in the past I think if I went to a Protestant church service I would have given myself away as a Catholic by doing or not doing something or by my attire or by my aura. I still think that to some extent.

No we cannot if we follow the 1917 code of canon law from Pope Saint Pius X and Pope Benedict XV or the encyclical Mortalium animos from Pope Pius XI.

Thanks for the video, how can we find out a church is Protestant or Catholic?

I’m a Filipino Roman Catholic Christian and I have 2 older cousins ( who’re like sisters to me ❤️ ) who are protestants. Every summer, I come to spend my dearest days in my province with them. Every Sunday, My family and them and with my tita ( aunt ) and tito ( uncle ) go into a Protestant church. I can say that the whole mass there is very good. I respect them and they also respect me for we worship the one True God Jesus Christ. There really is no tea within our faith.

So why show division/hatred when both Protestants and Catholics believe in God and in Jesus Christ? Isn’t that the most important thing that all of us should know? I know, because all of us should just be filled with God’s spirit in order to have respect towards one another. That is the way we can achieve peace and how to obey God between 2 denominations❤️❤️❤️❤️✨✨✨✨
