I've been doing squats for awhile now and was so impressed with my progress until I seen this video and tried doing one. Haha, my calf muscles started creaking and at that moment I realized I wasn't doing squats correctly! lol thank you for the video!

One detail she left out is. Squats also strengthen your abs. High repetition definitely makes for toned abs. It also helps with running speed and endurance. Squats are not only a muscle and endurance exercise, but also a cardio exercise at the same time. The best way to improve is do like 50 squats, rest 5 minutes. And repeat as many times as you are able to without injury. However, if you are a beginner it is recommended to start at the 15-20 per set and rest for 5 minutes until you build your way up. I do not use weights at all; seem as how there is such a high risk for injury with weights during squats even with properly doing them. Because your back is very fragile, no matter how strong it is. One improper lift by becoming complacent or making an accidental move and bam; injured back. I know personally; from what I have seen.

Thank you. I have a weak left thigh and my physio told me to do squats, but I could never figure out how, no matter how many times she showed me. This helped a lot!

THAT WAS GREAT, THAT WAS A PERFECT TUTORIAL! I was doing that and getting knee pain, but now I do it right and don't feel anything at all.

How about keeping your back, in a more upright position as if you're sitting in a chair for a more accurate sitting squat? Arching your back, just places additional, unnecessary strain on your lower back.

I've just added squats to my workouts and I think I've been doing them incorrectly. Your tutorial is so helpful for me, I'm going to play it tomorrow to get my squat just right. Thank you! :)

I figured out that the way I was doing them was wrong. for the lifting of head up made the difference. I figured that way u make spine in alignment and make no mistakes with 'em. keep up the gud work.

Sounds awesome! It's always good to maximize your time and your results so you may be ready to add some weight to your squats or add a jump at the top to increase the intensity of your squats. That way you only need to do half the amount of squats and get the same results! It's perfectly fine to do 60 squats but you could do 20 or 15 with weight and get the same benefit. Hope this helps!
