I hope he was working out before this. Because he's breathing like Darth Vader stuck on fast forward

first video for rack pulls, where someone focused on a straight and tall spine. massive +1.

Good tutorial and love the way you breakdown the technique properly, full body tension, neutral spin, chin tucked and strong core with no over extension at the top, all very important details

I love this exercise and it seems to be much less strain on my back than a pure deadlift. It must be unfamiliar to people though because I always get strange looks while doing it.

While I know the benefits of the deadlift, I prefer rack pulls more.

Thank you so much, you have included the being “tight’ (in which i don’t understand in the book and with you, I did😀) and the “blow past your sticking point (in which again I understood here🙏🏿)

This doesn’t just build “lower back”

If you squeeze everything properly you can really hit the inner part of your lats. Traps are trained nicely also as well as your hams and calves.

I find if you sub out the grip strength part every once in awhile and use straps, the rack pull becomes an amazing workout for the full length and breadth of the trapezius (the not just the portion in your shoulder girdle), as well as your rhomboids.

Super good video, been wanting to try rack Pulls for a while now. My gym’s power rack unfortunately has fixed bars near hip height so I’ll have to stand on a set of 20kg plates to be able to start with the bar around knee height. Will give it a try this morning. Keep these types of videos coming!

Best advice I've ever picked up in regards to these is to imagine someone is tickling you and you pull your lats back to prevent that from happening. Sounds stupid but it really helps get that mind muscle connection, cheers

I’ve been doing deadlifts for years, and every time I do them it always seems to put a lot of unnecessary stress on my lower back. At 6’3 and switching to rack pulls, This is a much better movement for me without the nagging back pain that comes with deadlifts
