They say the pain experienced during childbirth is second only to the pain one feels when a pitcher loses a no-hitter with two outs.

I remember this game well. As a Jays fan, I was heartbroken for Morrow. His stuff was always filthy, he just struggled to put it together as a starter. This game was a sign of his potential!

Oh man, I remember being in the stands for that game as a kid. We would usually leave around the 7th or 8th inning because my Papa wanted to beat the Toronto traffic after the game, so when he wanted to stay until the end, it was a huge deal. We went up to the concourse level for the 9th so we could see the celebration if he indeed finished it off, get some photos, and then still try to get on the road before everyone else. My mom's favourite player was Aaron Hill, so when we saw the ball go off his glove, she was probably the most upset out of everyone. We were all praying to God that they would score it an error on Hill, so seeing the 1 appear in the hit column felt like a real punch to the gut. The entire hour-long car ride home was us talking about the game, and when the conversation started to drift to something else, one of us would've said something like "do you guys realize just how close we came to seeing a no-hitter?!" I'll never forget that night.

Great seeing the Jays content, if you ever want to dabble into again you should take a closer look at Steve Pearce's two walk off grand slams in a week 👍🐦

so glad he's back with the Dodgers. I don't expect him to be as good as he was, but he was great in 2017 as a reliever

Honestly, Thank you. I am a die hard Blue Jay fan and i was watching this game as it happened. I bring it up all the time to Baseball fans. This game is so very overlooked and truly was a gem of a Pitching performance. 17 strikeouts. Vernon Wells left the game with a bruised foot, diving up against the center field wall, while in an effort to keep the no no going. I also never forgave Aaron Hill for not getting that ground ball. lol One out away, and a seeing eye single dribbles by the infield. I'll never forget this game. and now Hopefully, others will remember the night Brandon Morrow was untouchable. Thanks again for that great video.

I have never seen hitters look more lost at the plate. This game is right up there with Woods 20k and Klubers 18k games in terms of sheer dominance in a performance

Love the video. As a Mariners fan I always like to keep tabs on players that leVe the team and how they do elsewhere. This performance, at the time raised my eyebrows again as the M's had Marrow, only to part ways. Ultimately neither the M's or Marrow did much of anything.

He used all his power early in his career and spent the rest of it on the DL.

Brandon Morrow had his moments, even when he was with the Mariners. I was at a game in Seattle in September 2008 when they were taking on the Yankees and he took a no-hitter into the 8th before giving up a hit. Definitely one of my favorite games I saw and I was sad to see him go to Toronto

I was at this game just above the Jays bullpen.
Shitty part was seeing the two out squib get through then strike out the next batter.
That was just heart breaking.

Dave Stieb deserves to be in Cooperstown!!! If he played for the Yankees he'd already be in...he was one of the best pitchers in the 80's

Thanks for this Jays feature, JO!! I remember this game well, and couldn’t believe it when Aaron Hill wasn’t able to field that hit cleanly for the last out. I’m sure he felt as bad as Morrow did.
I always loved watching BM pitch and rack up the K’s.

Thanks for making this. As a teenage Jays fan in Toronto I had a big crush on Morrow and definitely remember watching this live.

I was at this game nearly 11 years ago. I remember how badly we all wanted that grounder to Aaron Hill to be scored an E4, but I will never forget that day at the ballpark. It came completely out of nowhere and I am happy to have been witness to greatness, even if only for a day. Just nasty stuff.

I remember this game. My parents dragged me to the big box local furniture store to browse couches. I wandered off and hunkered down on the most expensive display, which happened to feature an armchair and big screen TV showing the Jays game. Eventually around the 7th inning, my parents came over and we all just sat around the TV, hoping for the no-hitter. That Longoria base hit was devastating, man.

Let’s not overlook that he was pitching in a tight game too. Only 5 hits on the board for the Jays at the end of the game, and only one run scored the entire game. He was pitching under pressure the entire 9 innings. Bravo.

This makes it all the more impressive because of the score of this game. All the other footage were games that were out of hand and surely hitters had given up a little bit or were subbed out. Not in this one 1-0 finish!!
