No class. Didn't even check if he was ok.

There's always one guy who rolls/competes like he just caught you trying to stab his kids...

Blatantly illegal and walks off like he doesn't even care. I would suspend him from IBJJF for a year. It is illegal for this exact reason.

So unfortunate to see. This dude is concussed. The way the back of his head bounces off the ground makes me sick. I hope he recovers well, and the competitor was disqualified.

How is this guy a brown belt and doesn't know that's illegal? Or worse knows and does it anyway

People like that are the main reason that I don’t have any interest in competing. I train because it’s fun, and it’s good exercise, and maybe, just maybe, it could help me if I end up in a physical altercation.

Maybe.

The problem with competitions is that some of the people who go into them are little more than hobbyists with a pretty relaxed mentality, looking to have a good time and, if they are lucky, take home a medal. They know they will never be world champions, and they aren’t looking to prove anything or hurt anyone.

Other people are extremely competitive and have no interest in holding back or looking out for the well-being of their fellow competitors. They will hurt you and not hesitate to do it, and they won’t feel bad about it when it happens.

Essentially, the way I look at it is that if you are going to compete, you better go in with a rounded set of skills and know that the person you are facing might be willing to potentially injure you permanently even if it’s just to win some bullshit local tournament. Expect to get hurt and plan/train/prepare accordingly.

Dude probably learned that move from his abusive father; probably learned how to walk away from him like that, too

The disqualified guy looked salty as hell, he didn’t care if his opponent was permanently damaged

The referee seems to signal a "he didn't make it"

Exactly why I don’t compete. This guy couldn’t care less about seriously injuring his opponent.

I’m all for full blast competitive spirit but this is just Heartless disregard for your competitor. That’s not a question of if you can but if you should. Then the way he walks off and doesn’t even check on him. Could have landed a little funny there and crippled the guy.

This guy obviously has an uncontainable ego.
