Breathing is the number one, most important function of your physical body. After all, it is the bridge between life and death. This guided visualisation meditation is a calming one so I recommend you lie down. You will be guided to breathe with each of the 7 major chakras. MY EQUIPMENT:
The good thing with a bolster is that it is so versatile. You can straddle it, or sit cross legged with your bottom on top and your legs folding down (this greatly reduces the fold around your pelvis when in a seated position!). In a lying meditation you can put the bolster under your knees, or in a relaxation meditation you can lie length ways across the bolster allowing your shoulders to drop back.
I really enjoy using a bolster, and it is very handy if you are meditating often, however, a folded blanket or sitting on a chair will always suffice too.
