This was one of my first otome games and I fell in love with it because of its beautiful music, drawings and the tragedy, I even bought the books, I didn't understand anything and I was translating it with Google Translate and thanks to a wonderful person on YouTube who uploaded the game with the translation of 3 of the 5 routes, but I don't recommend it for everyone because if you don't like bittersweet endings or tragedy with a romance that you know won't be happy forever, you won't like it. I found the system interesting and innovative in its own way and it required a guide to advance through all the endings but I took the time to leave the bad endings for the end and I was almost laughing at its 40 bad endings and I wondered how I was going to die in the next part. I liked almost all the routes and the only route that I didn't like very much was Hubert's because he is the main antagonist in all the routes so I couldn't give myself the pleasure of enjoying his route knowing that he was always trying to kill you, but I give the protagonist points for dominate him.

I was pretty interested in checking this out as I've seen it at the top of other otome girlies' localization lists. I'm a fan of artist(s)(recently found out Usuba Kageroo are two artists under the same name), the premise seemed lovely and dramatic in a good way. I am worried about the gameplay aspect though as someone who enjoys when gameplay and otome combine. If done in a way that doesn't hurt the overall experience by dragging or being done in an unnecessary way. I still want to check it this out one day but it was helpful hearing more about that part in this format.

Hmm, if it ever gets localized I'd give it a try. I don't always play bad endings, but I do love moral dilemmas and that whole idea of love versus duty has me intrigued. But god does that gameplay seem annoying

i remember this game and i remember it being a bit controversial from what i seen a couple years back.. but the most sad part is that i was super interested in it only to find out that i never got localized which.. i assumed it would be now since its been so long but.. knowing that it still hasn't gotten an english translation sucks butt.. i really wanna play it. i love the darn art work 😭 and the story sounds interesting.

The added game mechanic sounds super interesting but poorly implemented which is a shame because i love these kinds of things. I feel like having to find information youself would add to the immersion of a mystery game and winning arguments sounds like it could be rewarding and smart if it actually lead to something cool. It really is a bummer it didn't turn out good. Oh well 😅

I loved the dark non-canon endings: Mainly Ghislains insanity, Louis' suicide, and Orpheus accidentally killing everyone. I felt like those added layers to the characters that weren't seen in the actual story.

Back in 2017 I believe, I watched a youtube creator translating the routes up until the Love endings I believe and it only covered the nights, I low-key wished to see 40 bad endings of this game lmao.

The art is gorgeous but the story at times for me was meh or pretty bad sometimes xD
