A Russian missile strike that hit a crowded shopping mall in the central Ukrainian city of Kremenchuk has killed at least 10 people and injured at least 40 others, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reported, Monday, June 27.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a Telegram post that the number of victims was “unimaginable,” citing reports that more than 1,000 civilians were inside at the time of the attack.

Despite mounting evidence to the contrary, Russia has claimed repeatedly that it is not targeting civilians in the unprovoked war it launched on Ukraine just over four months ago. Moscow has not commented on the strike.

The United States said Monday that the G-7 is closing in on a plan to force a lower price for Russian oil in what would be a major escalation of the campaign to punish the Kremlin for its invasion of Ukraine, AFP reported.

"There is also consensus emerging... that the price cap is a serious method to achieve that outcome," U.S. President Joe Biden's national security adviser, Jake Sullivan, told reporters at the G-7 summit in Germany.

A senior U.S. official described talks within the G-7 -- Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United States -- as advancing.

"We're still in final discussions with other G-7 counterparts working to finalize this, but we're very close to a place where G-7 leaders will have decided to urgently direct relevant ministers to develop mechanisms to set a global price cap for Russian oil," the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

The goal of the plan is to starve the Kremlin of its "main source of cash and force down the price of Russian oil."

No shattered wind screens on the cars, was the missile on mute mode or was it a Molotov cocktail attack for insurance claim ?

Because Ukraine keeps the weapons and bombs inside the shopping mall.

I am watching this and thinking how precise weapons guidance has become. Now if only they could hit military targets instead of people innocently shopping.

I'm surprised at all the people here that don't understand that someone might be out shopping for something during this war. The city is very centrally located in Ukraine and really mainly the eastern, northeastern, and southeastern flanks are seeing the fighting. The entire country has not fled. People still have a need to purchase things to go on with life.

My people are at a shopping mall and Ukraine I have no idea. Those people should have been evacuated in a long time ago.

Reminds me of how ruthless United States would have been back in 1945, while dropping bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki
