Extremely disappointed with Bloomberg using the terminology of British "extracted" $45 Trillion from India vs "looted" or "Stole." In India, British govt. would have signs in front of buildings saying "Dogs & Indian not allowed." British massacred thousands of unarmed Indians through police firing at a Park in India (jallianwala bagh massacre). During World War II, the famine-like conditions created by British by stealing resources from India to support the war led to about 3 million Indians dying at the time.
I am a regular viewer of Bloomberg but this video really disappointed me.

Agriculture -> Manufacture -> Service

India skipped the manufacturing part

There exist a word "steal" in English dictionary I don't think "extracted" 45 trillion dollar works right here.

As an Asian, I hope all Asian countries can be stronger, we have experienced too much destruction and humiliation from the Western world, just because we are not strong enough, cooperation is more important than comparison

The bigger question is 'will the US allow India to become the next China?' India's economic rise would pose yet another threat to western hegemony.

As a Chinese, I wish success ahead of India. One more old civilization stands up to western imperialism and hegemony exploitation is better than only one.

I was born in India and I had no choice. Always wanted to move abroad. Never liked anything here except my family and friends. The complex systems in every department of life and state here are consuming. But after I started looking at everything from a broader perspective not just western one, I kinda feel like we're doing fine. I don't wanna take pride in our rich history. But in present scene, there's a great number of people living extremely difficult lives here. I accept the truth and will contribute to whatever I can. Blaming and accusing is not gonna help. We'll make this. Peace🙏 🇮🇳✨

As a chinese, I really hope india can succeed in own manufacture. India and china should not regard each other as enemy. We should partner with each other with mutual repesct and trust to boost both countries' economy.

Over the years i read a lot of articles from Andy Mukherjee. Never heard anything positive he said about India in all these years.

if you think China has a negative political system, then how does it continue its growth with strong domestic support, while "democratized" India has a disordered and short-seeing government. India may become the next China only if it can learn from China in the right ways, not the ways taught by the western media.

Complicated uncertain taxes ? As tax professional, just reading dozens of tax cases in India, the pattern is obvious for me, dodgy western companies who are only looking for cheap labor and through all the methods available such as unfair transfer price, conduit companies avoid paying taxes in India.

I stopped taking this video seriously the moment Andy Mukherjee started with his "expert" opinion. One glimpse at his Twitter timeline is enough to identify that this man has an agenda and has his set of favourites. An objective observer instead, would have been appreciated.

Yes, but in a very different way. India has realized it has to walk its own way and defend its own interests. Not be America's puppet.
