Delivering pizzas and Ubering. That's exactly what I'm doing at the moment.

Retail jobs have no loyalty to their employees. None. I used to work in retail & the store manager fired a cashier who'd worked there for 10 years, knew all her customers, and literally was so positive everyday. All because a customer who had about $2 left on his store credit gift card gave it to her to keep & she purchased a drink with it. Fired her on the spot with no warning.

Hopefully this video is a cautionary tell for people. 7 years feast 7 years famine. When the good times are around pay off all your debts and save/invest everything you can. 15 years at the same place and now out on the street. Nothing is a sure thing anymore.

Wow, Dave kinda hit my heart strings the way he handled that. So much respect for an illness that not all backwood boy’s from Tennessee would respect. Appreciate the example!

I use to go through what he went through as far as depression. My best advice is to give your depression to God. It was the best decision I ever made. Also, you got to stop beating yourself up about your situation. Dave Ramsey and other success stories are physical proof that you can get rid of debt. Get out of that negative mindset because it's holding you captive. You have to fight for your happiness and your life.

In 2013 I lost my job and had about 50k plus student loan. Can’t describe the stress in words. Thankfully I had some money saved which helped me keep current on my loan payments and survive barely, thankfully I found job in few months and now fast forward totally debt free and have 50k saved in bank account and hopefully buy a house when I have enough saved to put as a down payment.
Stay strong brother, don’t lose hope. I am sure you will get out of this mess.

Great that Dave took time to show compassion! John, get back to your feet, you can do this!

The hilarious part of this video is that Dave's advice was better than what you'd get from most therapists for several thousand dollars.

I like that you gave him simple, specific and doable first steps to physically take to hopefully pull himself up. It’s so hard to know what to do that we just sit home in fear and worry and it only gets worse.

Poor guy. Depression can be really difficult. It's like you know that things need to be done, but finding the willpower and energy to get things done is really hard when you're depressed.

He is so lucky to have his dad. Put a hold on all the credit cards. Work at McDonalds. He's young. I've had to restart at age 62. It can be done. I also suffer from depression, I know what I'm talking about. Best of luck.
