My girlfriend and I are on vacation, so naturally it’s time to film and post some content. Lmao!!

I’m proud of her progress over the last several months/year. She’s now benching, squatting, and deadlifting on a weekly basis. Her form is really good and she’s maybe even starting to kind of like it!!

But the two of us are a funny pair in a lot of ways. One way is that I am totally a risk taker. Two years ago I went skiing with a bunch of buddies and was doing a black diamond on day two without a lesson. She’s the type who would probably rather just chillin in the lodge or stay on the greens for a few days under the supervision of an instructor.

So when it comes to her DB press, the limiting factor at this point isn’t her strength. She’s pressing 20s for sets of 15 with relative ease. The limiting factor instead is her confidence in what she perceives as a “risky” mount/dismount.

So today, I drilled her on the setup and dismount of dumbbell pressing to really make sure she’s enjoying our vacation, LOL!! She got it in a few tries.

But honestly, it’s these “little” things that can make all the difference for someone trying to bridge that novice-beginner-intermediate lifter gap.

I like to put them in my upper thigh, once you fall back they're pretty much in correct position to push

It only works as long as you have 20 lbs dumbbells 😅
