You can use either card slot but the update has to be done in the primary card slot. You can select which slot is primary in the shooting menu. I used the sd card slot because my xqd card hasnt come yet.

thanks. was having issues and realized that using the secondary slot it wont update. has to be an XQD card to update

This is nice, I found another way of updating the firmware is through snapbridge and it was quick and easy to upgrade.

Do I drag the entire zip file onto the card. I do this but I don’t get the upgrade option on the camera side.

I have used this video in the past with no issue.

I just received my nikon z6 ii and when I insert my Sony xqd card it says it can't read or use it. Could this bc of firmware?

In z6ii, you can do it without the ned to SD/XQD card, over the wifi
