Nice thanks. One little time saver...after inserting the memory card and selecting the Setup menu, scroll UP to immediately get the firmware menus!

Would also add if you have a camera with dual card slots make sure to remove the memory card without the update file, otherwise the update won't work. Keep up the great videos guys

I did the A & B updates on my D3X last year. At first I thought it would do both in a single step, but when B failed to update, I realised that it was necessary to do B totally separately (ie. without A on the memory card.)

You need to specify, format memory card "in camera" never in PC/Laptop, just to be clear, otherwise very clear

And it is the same process for updating firmware for Z lenses. The firmware update for a lens is only needed via one camera and the update goes with the lens to other Z cameras

The update menu doesn't come up no matter what I do. The card is formatted, the .bin file is correct and on the card, but the camera never shows the "update" option when in firmware version dialogue.

Seems the D5000 program does nothing on Windows 10 so can't seem to update that firmware. :(

Just did the boss’ zfc. The hardest part was finding a working card reader. The one I had been using somehow thought all cards were write-protected. You don’t notice that when you just use it to download the pics 🤦

i did everything for my d3100. but when i put in camera and go to firmware nothing changes and no options but "ok" only thing on card is a file i named d3100 update. and in that is the new bin file.. camera dose not see it tho.. why? im so fustrated

i'm currently about to sell my D810, i've hardly ever used it, about 7000-accuations
so its still got the original software it came with from new!.
can i just upgrade straight to the latest software, or will i have to upgrade through each version?
