The Blue Trail With The Unrideable Feature

This trail is awesome for two reasons. First, it's a fast and fun trail with a mix of terrain and optional features. Second, it has one of the coolest stunts I've ever laid eyes on. For the past two summers, I've driven out to Calgary and made a point to stop in Revelstoke for a quick lap or two to break up the drive. On both trips, I've scoped out what I call the "Elephant Trunk," an elevated kinked skinny jump with no landing. As much as it hurts my soul to skip it, I just haven't been able to wrap my head around it. I'm fairly certain I could ride it in a trialsy way without too much difficulty, that is to slowly ride down it and pedal kick off the end, but I'm not sure it would do the line justice. Nor would I ever try that on a solo ride away from home. I'm not even sure I could get my bike up there by myself. Also, thank you for helping me reach 2,000 followers! Glad to have everyone along for the ride.

This is the rare feature so insane that you know it was either designed by an absolute riding legend OR someone who has literally never ridden a bike before

ddangerous ddave: "I'm afraid of heights"
Also ddangerous ddave: Bombs down steep mountain trails, rock features and jumps at high speeds...

That thing is hilarious. I don’t think the words “hell no” have ever come out of my mouth faster than when I first saw that on the trail a couple of years ago. 😂 The trail itself though is really the perfect blue trail, isn’t it? Just the right amount of doable wood features, optional jumps and rocks to bridge the gap between blue and light black. They know how to build em out there!

Love the almost inaudible whisper; ".... fuck that" hahaha

Looks like a trap to impale yourself on that sharp jutting branch.

Clearly constructed by a cannibal forest tribe.

It's funny how different people can be. I would not ride down a curvy mountain trail at 30mph but would gladly climb up on the beam and walk it. Thanks for taking us along!

I've seen these. Bigfoot makes them and while you try to figure it out, he steals your bike.

I feel like this was designed by someone who doesn’t ride themselves and watches too much RedBull TV

Everything about that just comes together beautifully…the sketchy ladder, the insane tightrope walk across, the s curve in the already hideous feature, the total lack of landing… clearly inspired by someone who hates bikers

No idea what led me to this channel, but the algorithm must be doing something right cuz I've marathoned through a few videos and I loved them! Strangely mesmerizing and relaxing and exhilarating at the same time. I like seeing how you think things out and are careful and thoughtful while doing such an extreme sport. It teaches others to know their limits, which I think is good, but also has fun with it pointing out the really intense stuff. I'm suddenly very motivated by these videos. You've got a new subscriber!

It's not that it's unrideable, its that the landing was removed and the approach. I live in Revelstoke and we used to ride it all the time. Now the trail is called "Man Quads" and the local cycling association deactivated the big dubious features, and built new stuff thats also rad.

I've seen a few of dave's videos now and I gotta say I really respect his will to live. I was concerned at first, because most of this does look like a death wish, but he's not afraid of saying no to death when it calls. Good for you dave.

That looks like such a fun trail, I would definitely ride it except I'm on the other side of the world.

This is now on my to ride list. I would love to give that feature a go! Reminds me of all my favorite trails wraped up in one wreck your day event lol.

"unrideable"

it barely looks witnessable, im worried it'll fall apart under the weight if this vid gets too many views

I like that you show yourself not doing a stunt, because I think it encourages thinking critically about your safety.

Maybe it's just a piece of art?🤔😜
