A2 Motorcycle Under £4000 - New and Used!

You really can't compare new and used bikes against each other they are not the same thing and when it comes to the 125cc market used bikes can be a minefield, however in the A2 market things seem somewhat improved. As I have the 380 SE to review it only seems fair to see what you can get new or used for the same money as part of my research for the review.

There are some amazing deals to be had on these bikes, pre-registered new bikes are also an awesome way to save some squids.... The 390 Duke was being sold brand new but pre-reg'd for £3100 IIRC just a month after I got mine in 2018

I very recently just bought my first A2 bike. A 1996 Kawasaki ZXR400RR. Bike is in perfect working order and very good cosmetically, considering it's age. Payed £2250 for it and got myself a year parts and labor warranty on it for £120. Personally, I wouldn't buy brand new for an A2 because I don't really think any new bike is worth it when the used market is so strong. Any new bike you buy will be more expensive than its used counterparts but will deprecate loads by the time you come to sell. Some used bikes won't even drop at all in value once you're done with it as long as you look after it well. Only thing to be aware of is that you need to know what you're buying and from who when you buy used because there's always that risk of getting a lemon whereas that's nothing to worry about when buying new.

I don't think that of all the bikes you mentioned you included the Honda Rebel 500. My wife who is only 5-1 recently purchased a new one, having previously learned to ride on a very good used Lexmoto Arizona. One of the main reasons for buying the Rebel is its very low seat height, which is just 27.2 inches (old school) A very capable machine that lends itself to being modified/added to in lots of ways. My wife paid £5, 500 (new) Hope this may help riders who are vertically challenged :)

The KTM 390's are almost always reduced outside of summer from what I've seen, I remember when seeing a a brand new 2017 model RC390 for sale in 2018 for like £2899, I was really tempted to buy it lol!

Thanks for doing this video. It is along the same thought lines as I posted on th Facebook group. An important question though, resale 2 yr old lxr 380 against a 4 yr old big 4. I guess the difference is what your paying for warranty and breakdown

I bought a 2014 CBR500RA-E for 2.6k second hand in 2018, best bike ever. Shame someone pulled out on me, rest in many small pieces. Also its great to know someone is as much of a fan of the CBR500R as me xD

I’m finding the BMW g310s at around £4300 mostly. BMWs website gives an otr price of £4620 but I’ve found dealers doing 2019 bikes at anywhere from as low as £4050 up to £4590.
Whoever found that one for £3450 BUY IT NOW!

If your on a a2 licence like me, I've bought a cb650r which has 96bhp but has been restricted down, it's probably the best idea if you are going to do your full test

Price of a new BMW G310R is £4670 but second-hand ones a year old can be had for around £3000. I know because I bought one new last year and have just part-ex'd it as I've decided to go for a F900XR. Despite only some 33 hp, the 310 is a splendid quality bike and I can thoroughly recommend it as a first or in my case second run-around machine.

Pre registered 2019 Kawasaki 4000 KTM 3400-3700 and I'm not just talking 1 specific shop there's plenty of dealerships doing deals u can get r3 cheaper than the yzfr 125 2019pre registered

A2 is really when you figure out what you like and what you dont. Had a MT-07 hated it got a KTM 250 TPI and i cant stop riding
