This is not a liquid or a gas

This is just a bunch of dry ice, and it's basically just solid carbon dioxide. What I think is interesting though is what happens, if I seal some of it in a pressure chamber, and heat it up.

A while ago, I actually used a similar supercritical CO2 chamber to make aerogel.

I learned about this in science it’s called a supercritical fluid and it happens when extreme pressure and heat make conditions that don’t align with liquids or gases.
