About 80 percent of all drones sold in the U.S. are made by a Chinese company, DJI, that the U.S. government says has links to the Communist Party. Congress is on the verge of banning all Chinese-made drones from the U.S. market, citing national security concerns, sparking alarm among businesses that rely on them. What about US made planes? They are flying in China air space for decades. There is no national security concerns.

I'd rather have a Chinese drone than an Israeli one...

DJI is arguably the best, most innovative Chinese company. The founder wanted to model his company after Apple and Steve Jobs. There’s no one else that even comes close to the quality of their products. A ban of their products would be detrimental to the many industries which benefit from DJI’s products.

The United States likes free trade when it is ahead, but not when it is fair competition. Take Alstom of France, the Plaza Accord of Japan, and Huawei of China, which were suppressed by the United States. The first two surrendered, but the last one became stronger.

Give me a break. There are 100 million DJI drones in America. IF there is the capability for China to get any data from their drones, they'd have to sift through 100 million drones' data and multiple flights per drone. DJI goes through great length with their "geozone" fencing that prevents their drones from going over sensitive areas. It won't let me fly within 5 miles of an airport without special permission. All drones require registration. Remote ID that began about 2 years ago requires all drones to have a transmitter that broadcasts the location of the drone AND pilot. Even civilians can obtain the software to identify drones and the base locations of the flights. Lastly, if a drone flight has nefarious purposes, why would they broadcast their locations with strobes at night. A pilot doesn't need strobes to navigate, but they are designed to show others where the drones are flying. MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING IMO>

When I was a student, I appreciated America's confidence, openness, and tolerance. Now, everything has changed and that America is gone.

DJI drones can be operated "air-gapped" from the internet. Yet politicians that don't have the IT skill to change the password on their own email are telling us that the Chinese military is actually collecting all the "data" from those drones "somehow" for "some reason".
Right 🤣
