People have the internet now and know how hypocritical the US is. Americans allow current and former US government officials and politicians to work for large corporations (Lockheed and Martin, Facebook, Microsoft, Cisco, Oracle), and yet they want to tell TikTok not to do the same. Hypocrisy could fool many in the past, but people are too smart these days, especially with the ability for citizens to pass information to other citizens on a large scale
