Newly released satellite images reveal the severity of the damage done to key infrastructure near the Ukrainian city of Kherson.

Maxar Technologies’s aerial photographs show the state of both the Antonovskiy Bridge and the Nova Kakhovka dam.

Multiple bridges were heavily damaged following Russia’s retreat from the city, according to both Ukrainian and Russian sources.

Ukrainian troops entered Kherson on Friday (11 November), a landmark hailed as being “historic” by Volodymyr Zelensky.

The port city was the only regional capital Russia had captured since its invasion began in February.

_Okay, we've got some satellite images of the bridge. Should I start putting a video together?_

*Yes please.*

_...Okay, and what about audio? I was thinking of some silly, plinky plinky music. It's a great contrast to the tragedy of modern warfare._

*Sounds like a great idea!*

Is the music deliberately dystopian and distracting?

Whatever the real reason for the withdrawal, the bridges and the dam, which is also a crossing point, were destroyed for no other reason than to stop any Ukrainian troops crossing and pushing further into the territory at that point. If it had been with malicious intent, theyd have completely destroyed the dam and caused widespread flooding. Instead, they destroyed only a small portion of the dam, allowing no more water to flow through than what can be dispersed naturally.

Why the Acid House music? What's all that about?

Is Skrillex still around? You could use him for the audio.

According to Russian sources except we aren't allowed to read or hear them.

I love how Zelensky was like “if Russia blows the damn then they’re declaring war on the whole world”.. umm no ? The world isn’t going to war over a dam. Yeah it’s gonna suck it’ll flood the heck out of a portion of Ukraine and it’ll effect Russian troops but it’s not for him to decide what a declaration of war is lol… and it’s certainly not going to be seen as the same as using a nuke despite the fact he’s saying that. If it were that big of a deal there would’ve been multiple warnings from western officials aimed at Russia by now threatening consequences should they choose to entirely blow the dam.

Is there a danger of the dam bursting?

I like how you conveniently missed out that damage to the dam was done before Russia's "retreat" and was cited as a main reason for the evacuation of the area. Just like the nuclear power plant Russia was supposedly shelling despite the fact they occupied it at the time. Or the official narrative around the Nord Stream whodunit making no sense. Wouldn't want to point out the "good guys" attacking infrastructure.

What I want to know is why private satellites are looking at this. Who’s in control of them?
