I absolutely love how she communicates that she wants a moment to do it alone. She's able express that form of need and sets a soft boundary, and you give her space to do so. Most often we see parents stepping in to help — and while of course its inevitable as it is understandable — giving them opportunities to establish coming forward on their own an volunteering because they want to, not because they have to helps immensely during this important growth period.
