Having served two years as a Peace Corps volunteer in southern Estonia in the mid 90s, I am so proud of the gains this small but mighty country has made. The persevering, pragmatic and progressive attitude of the Estonian people always impressed me. I have returned twice to visit friends and each time, was incredibly impressed with both the improved quality of life for those I know and the country as a whole. I know parts of the country esp in the northeast may not be enjoying Estonia's prosperity but, overall, one can't deny how far this country has come.

beautifully done film Leslie and what a lesson for us in Scotland and for those who say that we could not make it on our own. No wonder it was not for the BBC! As it was clearly stated at the end courage is needed and all esle will follow. And how much easier will it be for us compared to our friends in Eesti.

Estonia 🇪🇪, Finland 🇫🇮, , Japan 🇯🇵, , Norway 🇳🇴, , , Switzerland 🇨🇭 Austria 🇦🇹, and Russia, the best education in the world . I lived in Estonia 🇪🇪 Tallinn always people young and old incredibly educated people, superb quality. Extremely safety walking at night for the ladies absolutely no problem .I traveled all this countries I really like it .Warm greetings from beautiful tropical island 🏝 🌴 of Kauai, Hawaii ! The BBC didn't want it, but other channels might very well do, in Britain or abroad. Don't get discouraged! The film is such a fabulous and very well-made documentary.

The decision makers for Estonia's 1918 also aren't alive so it really isn't that different with other Nordic countries.

hmm... average Estonian net salary in september 2020 was ~ 1200€, from which employer must pay ~ 750€ taxes. and if you buy smth from the shop, then VAT is usually 20%, which from net salary is another 240€. so actual total taxrate is (750 + 240) / (1200 + 750) = 51%, not only income tax 20%. i can't say that taxes are extremely low in Estonia.

Dual money was fine for us, having only Euros made many many angry, still are, like me and about 40% of pop!
