A lawyer told me that it’s the best arguments that make someone win a process, it’s not always about justice.

I know some of us are watching from Canada, so here are some important differences to note for my fellow Canadians:
-Under the current Charter, the cops can and will probably interrogate you before you spoke to a lawyer
-Even if you ask for one and you are waiting for them to arrive, the cops are allowed to continue to interrogate you, but you always have the right to remain silent
-Under certain circumstances, the police may prohibit the lawyer from being in the room with you during questioning. However, you can still consult them before and during the questioning, at any point, by basically pausing it. Even if you know you have nothing to be afraid of, this can help relieve the pressure in the room.
-Any evidence, physical or not, collected by violating your rights may never be used against you in court
-Most of all, don't say "I invoke the Fifth"! The fifth amendment is part of the US Constitution, and claiming it as a way to protect you just shows that you don't really know what you're talking about when invoking your rights and undermines your discourse. You can instead say "I wish to remain silent" or invoke Section 7 of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, which is where that right is guaranteed

my friend got accused of a crime and he literally said i invoke the fifth, asked for a lawyer and then was proven innocent since his lawyer looked into his credit card charges and they saw that he bought a christmas gift for his brother like 1-2 min after the crime started.

People definitely have the right to remain silent...but a lot of them don't retain the ability when they're arrested.

Also note that “I want a lawyer” has been considered not enough to involve the right to an attorney in the US. “I invoke my right to an attorney” does count, however.
