This video is weird you bounce to much between an investor vs collector. Not buying 151 and prismatic for msrp is wild and is wasting 1000s of dollars over term

Great tips and video. Having said that, you not liking 151 blew my mind I don't think I've heard a single person say that once, ever.

Ripping packs is fun so just keep it at that, once you want to start a set buy the singles it is so much more cost effective.

Great tips but not liking 151 or prismatic is crazy!

Also recommend selling through tcgplayer less fees, sells a bit faster, and able to get a little bit more than eBay typically

The way i do to complete a masterset is to buy one display per set and buy the missing cards as singles. I think thats the best way to both enjoy ripping packs and still pay as low as possible to complete the set.

Buying singles where i live is risky cause the only way i can get them is off random people. There is no card store here

I do a hybrid approach i buy packs at the start of the expansion where i have no cards therefore the first few packs i have a high % of getting new cards when i hit a majority of commons i switch over to buying singles. This is because commons are well common and i know full well i will get to the point where i will get the same commons over and over.

When it comes to the condition of pokemon cards bought online. I find I rarely get NM and often buying for LP makes more sense if you just want the card.

Dude 151 is the best IMO, I think it’s the best n throwback plus so many great cards! It got me into Pokemon as an adult! I’m in it to collect not to get rich or anything. I enjoy buying packs and pulling my own big hits! I agree it absolutely is much cheaper to get the cards you want rather then chase, specially if it’s rare or something.🤙

This is a great video as someone who just got back into the hobby. I exclusively buy singles as a fan of the artwork; the most I have spent was $14 (N's Reshiram) but I got many of my most wanted illustration rares for $10.

That being said I am down to spend $300 on the Sylveon VMax

My reaction to not buying as much packs: Nah I‘d win. xD

My biggest mistake when i got back in to the hobby was buying way way to much 151 sealed and also singles.
I spend so much money on those 100 bucks sunzards or 25 bucks for those starters. And what to think about those 151 upc's and pokemon center etb's i bought.
Terrible terrible mistake by my end. It's not like i could sell it for 2-3 and sometimes 4 times my money.

I think I’ve been pretty lucky the set I’ve opened the most is surging sparks and have gotten a lot of hits enough to where I’m close to completing the set without getting any duplicate hits

Yeah I slowed down a ton on buying product to rip of course I do it for the fun aspect but that’s it. I also only collect the TG’S all the way to SIR’s vs trying to do complete master sets.

But I also try and get the cards for the cheapest price I can
