The small sedan is not dead. Take for instance the 2024 Nissan Sentra which is not only still alive, but it's been revised for this model year. And it takes on a pretty robust class believe it or not. This includes the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, Hyundai Elantra and more. Today we'll find out how the Sentra stacks up against all of these rivals.

I have this car. I have to say your the first guy to review this car that actually knows about the sport mode button. I had one reviewer tell me the button was for emergency neutral 😂😂

I just got this car myself. The SR 2024 in Atlantic Blue/Grey and it's the fully featured too no less.

So far I've really been enjoying it. Granted my previous car was a 20 year old Accord (a V6 tho), so all the new features feel high tech to me lol. But the ride is very smooth, it reacts fast and the fuel economy is good to (unlike my old car).

To anyone thinking about it. Don't feel put off by the "basic/bargain" label for this. Its a really nice car all around that doesn't come off at all like it's cheap or anything negative.

My son has a 2023 Sentra SR and loves it.

Those low profile 18" wheels don't help the ride. The S and SV have 16" and it helps with the ride a surprising amount.

I don’t know why the Sentra hasn’t been available in a higher turbo option like civic, Mazda 3, corolla, etc. Hyundai, etc. Kia forte, etc…lol

I bought the 24 SV with the all weather package. With 16 inch alloys the ride is great for a cheap car and the fuel mileage is ridiculous...I've seen 48mpg on the highway in ecomode when the trip is done. The cvt and engine are silky smooth and quiet unless you smash the throttle. The cvt can be heard while cruising at 70mph but it's not a whine or high pitched, it kind of matches the road noise.

Coming from driving pickups for 2 decades I'm blown away by how luxurious cars feel lol. Even my wife's Rav4 feels and sounds terrible compared to a cheap little Sentra. We've really screwed ourselves by letting sedans die.

Here’s a crazy thought @Nissan: how about throwing in your 1.5 turbo engine and a 6-speed manual in the Sentra and calling it the Sentra SE-R? With 200hp and sport-tuned suspension, it would be a direct competitor to the Civic SI. Here’s another thought: get your 2.0 VC turbo, boost it up to 300hp, add a 6-manual, and slap on as many spoilers as possible, and call it the Sentra Nismo. Now you’ve got a Civic Type-R fighter. They’d be selling like cupcakes… not saying that you need the sales…😉 You’re welcome.

The 2020-23 model SR came with 18 inch wheels too. You can get a cargo net and bag hooks for the trunk as dealer installed options

ppl are to picky I have the 2024 Sentra S doesnt have all the bells and whistles but I love it, wld be nice to have heated seats but its ok. great gas miles in the city feels sporty. esp for the price cant beat 25k

I have the SR and love it, comfortable, quick, and looks great. I can't find any issues. Oh yeah😅 the fuel mileage is great. im averaging 33.6 rural driving.

Lane departure is for knucklehead drivers. As a professional Sentra driver, I like the good responsiveness and comfy sport steering wheel. Trunk space is awesome as well.

One question though, is this classed as mid-size or compact?

I’d take a civic or mazda3 over this but I would most certainly take it over the corolla
