After being unimpressed with the Nissan Altima, Derek Spartz relucantly drives its smaller sibling - the slightly refreshed 2024 Sentra. In a big surprise, the Sentra may be the best sedan in Nissan's lineup! On top of this, it's also about 10% less than its Japanese competitors in the segment. If you own a Sentra, please share your experiences in the comments!

My associate just bought his son (co-bought) a '24 Sentra SV ... It is *fantastic* ... I've even driven it. It is incredibly smooth, for the class .. Has heated seats and remote start.

Anyone can get a bad credit loan with anyone. Its not just Nissan. Hell, people with good credit are paying ridiculous $600-$1000 monthly car payments they can't really afford.

I just bought a 2024 Sentra SV, I’ve been driving for two weeks now, my first impression is that it’s a great little car, it’s spacious, very quiet in normal driving conditions, it handles the road very well, the interior it’s very nice, the engine power it’s very good, it’s not a sport car but definitely it’s a very quick little car, very fun car to drive, and the gas mileage could be great but I’m getting only around 21mpg on the city because it’s so hard not to accelerate, I can tell that Nissan can easily make this car into a sport cart just by adding a turbo, the platform of this car it’s very balanced and stable definitely a sport car platform.
I look into a Toyota Corolla before I buy this car but the interior it looks much better on the Nissan Sentra and the extended warranty of 10 years or 100, 000 miles was included in this car at no extra cost.

Back in August I started looking for a new smaller good mpg car and I drove the versa, sentra, corolla, forte, and the elantra. I liked the Sentra the best out of them all so I rented one for two weeks to go on a longer trip with and I got an incredible 45 MPG with the adaptive cruise control set to 70 mph the whole way. With the 12.4 gal tank, that is some great range! Drives great for a little economy car and was really comfortable too. I know Nissan has some blemishes in its reputation from recent years, but I am hoping that they are back on the up and up. Two days ago I got a great deal on one of the last 2024 Sentra SR's on the lot and I love it so far. I also agree with you that the Altima was just so-so. I remember the engine being lazy, buzzy, and loud. Sentra is way better for less money.

My first car was a 240SX so I'll always have a soft spot for Nissan. I wish they'd bring back the Sentra SE-R but make it a little more grown up and refined. Here's hoping Nissan will continue to improve and get back to the reputation they once had.

As an immigrant to Canada from Sri Lanka, I like value cars very much (Missing Japanese Hatchbacks, kei cars so much) So I got a Versa SV which is perfect for me 🤟

If you go SV premium, you get a fold down armrest and cup holders.

3:10 Sentra has better panel gaps and fit and finish than the flagship Maxima

Auto start stop has to meet certain conditions to function. If your hvac is set to heat or cool the car and it hasn't reached the desired temp the car will always run, if the battery is in a semi low voltage state it will also run to charge it.

I have your car (24 SV w/o the premium pack). If you use the Eco mode and don't drive like a madman you'll do better in the MPG department. I find I can get 29-30 in town, in mixed city/hwy I get around 35 and in all highway I can get around 42 mpg. This isn't the "get there first" car but I've been very happy with mine so far.

Fortunately in Canada we can get this in S or SR trim with a 6 speed manual. That is the only way I would ever buy a Sentra.

Actually, best compact bargain sedan goes to the Nissan Versa. No clue why Nissan is even bothering with the Sentra at all. Seriously, keeping the Sentra in Nissan's line-up would ONLY make sense if Nissan offered a Turbo-charged engine option for it. They don't. Still don't. Should have done that years ago on the Sentra!

Isn't the Cadillac CT4 considered a compact sedan? Its competition are the BMW 2-series and Audi A3.
