What happened when the F-22 faced the F-4?

In 2013, an Iranian F-4 Phantom tried to intercept a U.S. MQ-1 Predator, only to be outsmarted by two stealthy F-22 Raptors. One F-22 snuck under the F-4, took a quick look, and then coolly warned, "You really ought to go home," causing the Iranian jet to back off and save the drone.

It was 2 Iranian fighters, 1 f22, and the f22 wasn’t an escort it was sent as backup after a distress from the drone (or radar) after which the f22 intercepted

To put it into perspective; It's like going to a neighbor's house down the block (who knows you and doesn't like you), going into his backyard and taking a dump...whilst dumping, he comes out to stop you...but before he can get a word out, your boy comes up behind him and tells him to go back inside.

The f22s are like
“Hey look, it’s grandpa let’s go say hi”

What's the point of sending a drone if you're gonna escort it with two Raptors?

The f4 phantom is a cold war era plane for those who dont know. Its radar is pulse doppler and can only detect things going away or towards it, and its missiles. Older, shorter range Aim 9s or aim 7’s would be no match for the f-22 which could have shot down the phantom from several dozen miles away

I’m thankful this doesn’t have 12 filters, and Brazilian phonk in the background.

The f4 is a old piece of equipment. And also the F22s radar appearance is like a tennis ball in a radar.

Iranian: "Interesting." *Flies downward, not seeing the F-22*

The F-22 really said, "You know your jet was made by us and we can jam it, right?'

Without being able to see the F22 on radar its pretty hard to see anything thats not infront of or above your cockpit this is true for practically every jet and plane but especially models with a nose cone or prop. Infact a couple years ago there was a air show involving a B17 and a P39 and the low visibility of the P39 was a contributing factor into why they crashed into eachother
