Andre is such a comfort compared to the chaotic cast. He’s genuinely nice and a good friend

My headcannon is that Robbie was insecure so he created Rex, who is like a polar opposite to Robbie. Rex is there to say the things Robbie himself wants to say but is too shy to do so. Which is why Rex is more perverted, loud and rude. Over the course of the series, Robbie starts gaining more and more confidence, which is why Rex is featured less towards the end.

Andre is one of those people who don't mind being in the spotlight but they don't want to be in it all the time. He's ok with coming 2nd or 3rd. He's really humble in that way and I'm glad that the producers didn't make him like that. He's a relatable character and if the writers/producers/directors didn't make him humble, he would've been such a terrible character.

In terms of cat’s personality I saw a video that had the theory that since it’s very common for siblings of very sick or mentally ill children to not get a lot of attention they have the tendencies to revert back to child-like behavior because that’s when they got the most attention it’s a good chance that that’s why cat acts the way she does

i think tori and trina’s attention seeking personalities are because of their clearly negligent parents. they didn’t receive enough care or attention as children so they now stop at anything to get the attention they didn’t get as children. even if it means hurting the people around them.

6:00 seeing them side-by-side and hearing the narrator Point out that the comments that rexs makes comes from Robbie’s mind I never notice that Rex and Robbie kind of similar

Can you explain more on how you think Tori's character is a jerk later on? I honestly think that she got better especially when it comes to beck because she refused to kiss him even when he and Jade were broken up. Which shows growth because she didn't want to hurt Jade, and even though not the best thing for him Tori saved Rex Because she knew that Robbie was heartbroken. She also sang with Andre on stage when he had his crush on Jade. Those are just what I can think of on the top my head and that's in the later seasons.If you could provide a little bit more context I would appreciate it.

I've always found Robbie's character kind of unsettling because of the stuff Rex says and does, which Robbie of course is doing himself but evidently can't own up to, so he, like, exorcises it through a puppet. Like remember the episode where "Rex" cut Trina's harness during a play? Or any of the almost misogynistic comments he made to random girls? Creepy stuff.

Here are my thoughts of the characters:


Tori
Pro: Despite all the negative backlash she gets, she actually is one of the less problematic characters of the show, personality-wise. She has some cleaning up to do, and can be somewhat entitled at times, but she is more likely to admit when she does wrong as well as trying to make up for it.
Con: But yeah, she gets way too much spotlight when the others are just as deserving, if not more than.


Cat
Pro: A very sweet and innocent girl who is hilarious af
Con: Her character has downgraded after season 1 to even more of an idiot. Probably just Dan being a creep.


Andre
Pro: Inarguably the least problematic character in the entire show. The only one in the show whom I'd actually want to be friends with. Even Jade is cool with him, and that says a lot. Also probably the most talented as well.
Con: Who cares? It's Andre


Jade
Pro: Iconic, hilarious, savage, badass, awesome singer, and all of our childhood crushes regardless of our sexualities. Probably the most entertaining in the entire show.
Con: Her personality is toxic af and somewhat glamorized. I get that she probably has issues with her dad, but still, she's a psychotic bully who went as far as to sabotage Tori's blood and is toxic to Beck. She's like this to the entire school.


Beck
Pro: Has nice hair and is a chill friend
Con: Literally that's all there is to him. Most bland character. Also he wasn't exactly a great boyfriend to Jade either; sometimes I feel like he angers her on purpose.


Robbie
Pro: Nice and funny guy. Broken Glass is a bop.
Con: What a creepy simp. Didn't he injure Trina and blamed it on his puppet? He's basically the embodiment of an adorkable misogynist. He can be just as toxic as Jade in a way.


Trina:
Pro: Hilarious; She-Cago is probably the most iconic act of the entire show.
Con: She personally irritates me more. Crazy af. She needs to chill. Also probably the worst sister ever. Even Jade has more redemption moments.

Edit: Actually I do want to point out a flaw with Andre. He was so underused as a character that he just feels like the token black best friend who is unproblematic. Not the only time this trope has been used though.

Also, I'd like to say that Beck isn't as bad as people think. My point still stands that he's mostly the bland hot guy and not a good bf, but he remains calm with others and is more humble than the rest of the group. Even Andre panics too much at times.

Andre is my favourite guy. Jade, Charlotte(Andre’s grandma)and Cat tie for favourite girls. Also I always wonder how Robbie has more friends than Trina.
