BAY PARKING REVERSE | 45 degree method

Показать описание
Reverse bay parking between 2 cars is the goal today. We will be using very low clutch control and lots of observations before and during this bay parking manoeuvre.
This approach to reverse into a space is not the same as what is expected on the UK driving test. The approach is what some people call the swing to the right method(45 degree method) and is commonly used by most drivers after they pass the driving test.

I need to learn this, as I can't reverse bay park reliably the way you get taught as a learner, as I have to reverse bay park at work car park due to the rules.

Excellent. Some of the videos are all "relaxing voice" over substance.

I've been struggling a bit with this method so I'm going to try doing it the way you describe. Can you tell me at what point past the space I want to reverse in do I start turning the steering wheel? Also how close do you recommend being to the space. Thanks 😊

Thanks for the video James. I prefer this method to reverse parking but I am just scared that I won't get the right angle when I come back into the bay! Do you have any tips once you start reversing? Thanks!

Hi. I watched all your vids on the 45 degree reverse parking method but they did not include a reference point. For example, you did not say if your car's side mirror or your car door was in the centre of the target parking bay before you went full lock to the right. I really wish you had said that.

At the start would you indicate left towards your bay, or indicate right as you are turning 45 to the right?

When steering right to get that 45 degree angle, would I need to do a full lock to the right or just one turn (of the steering)?

Been driving a month and I’m so scared of reversing into spaces, I was crying by other day because the car park at work was so busy and I didn’t know what to do

Are we allowed to use this method in our driving test?

What should the reference point be when stopping next to your target bay (I.e. before you turn right I to a full lock)?

It still boggles my mind why we are teached the 90 degree method, when I honestly can not think of a time I would use it over 45 degree method.

Why do some tutorials say to reverse back straight and then full lock?
