I passed my test in October and have been making myself do this lately. I did as you did in this video, I had to go forward in the end and readjust the angle

The guy in his shiny Mercedes looked like he was about to have an aneurism 😂😂

But I did the park in the end and that’s the main thing. Thanks for this video 🙂👍🏼

Of passed my test and struggle to do this but when I pick my daughter up I park in a quiet car park. And practice. Once I get it I can park like this at work. It sets the whole sceane for your journey when your ready to leave the car park.

James, me and my girlfriend drove past Milton Keynes and I thought of you!!! So many roundabouts that I recognised. Thank you for all of your videos.

Still watching your videos after passing my test 2 months ago. But parking ( reverse) gives me anxiety 😆

To some extent reverse bay parking between two cars is easier than where no other vehicles are present. You get a much easier to recognise view as everything is elevated and no adjustment needed for ground level needed. If you establish an approximate 45 degree position in the space prior to turn in it's easy. If you come in too shallow, less than 45 degrees or go in too deep. You just need to go forward and establish a better positioning. The key is recognising when it is going wrong.

This is how my driving instructor is teaching me to reverse bay park! At the moment he’s getting me to pull up next to the space and get your shoulder in line with the space, then full lock to the right moving forward, and then as I’m reversing back full lock to the left and then when you’re in the space straighten up which I’m still angled In the space and I don’t know how 🤷‍♀️ could that be from me turning the wheel too quickly when reversing back? 😥 I love your videos any chance you could do a video from the outside of the car and maybe a camera on the steering wheel to see how much you turn the wheel 😁

Passed my test over a year ago. Not sure what's happened but really struggling with parking at the moment. I used to be fine now I'm lucky if I get in 1st time ...

The 45 degrees method for all manoeuvres was a nightmare I found but with my new instructor he just says place it in without it and look ahead and every time I get it spot on whether it be parallel parking or forward bay parking.

45 degree parking is so much more useful that the traditional 90 degree method taught.

I would probably even go to say teaching 90 degree is just for test, doing 45 degree is for real life.

Good video, I passed my test here in the States a while back (a little over 2 and 1/2 years ago) but I still like to view your videos for tips and instructional practice purposes! 👍🏻

I like to practice doing this (reverse parking instead of forward parking) as often as I can when I have to park my pickup as I feel it is a good skill to have.

I’m getting better at it but I still find that often times I have to ‘fix’ the car with a few maneuvers from being crooked position...now I know everybody drives differently but is this ‘extra maneuvering’ a normal thing to have to do???

Thanks,
-Kevin

I failed my test today 3rd time :( I don't know what it is my nerves or what but I failed on a forward bay park. Apparently my back wheel was sticking out just a tad. The rest was great did an emergency stop. Roundabouts brilliant. Annoying that you can even open the car door to check, because in real life I know my partner is sometimes unsure depending on the parking space and either gets me to check or checks. I'm at the point of giving up. There's no test dates in my area until November now too, it's too long. Unless I changed to a different centre which is same travel time for me to get to. As they have June but im just so unsure. :(

Sorry if this is a silly question but once you’re in the 45degree position do you need to turn the wheel as soon as you start reversing? Do normally find you have to do a full lock of the wheel or do you judge it at the time? Believe it or not but I’ve been driving for over 6 years and reverse parking is still something that makes me break out in a sweat!

I found your back camera to be clear but front camera to be very off colour which makes it hard to see. Could just be me though.
