You can buy usb adapters to make your non-ac band devices ac-capable but you don't necessarily need to. ac band routers are backwards compatible with the previous wireless technologies so the wireless-n card that is in your current laptop will still work with a new ac router. However, if you buy an ac band router your laptop will not be able to take full advantage of the speed the router is capable of. You should also consider the overall limitations of your ISP when considering upgrading.

Yes it is. But i think he meant that if it was possible to put the Haswell CPU into his existing MacBook Air. Like change out the CPUs. Something that isn't possible with a MacBook Air...

I don't know if they still do this, but back then (2 years ago) apple has intel make special chips for them. They are the same as the commercial variants but usually they have a die shrink so they could fit in apple incredibly strict tdp limits.

for instance a stock chip back then would be the 2410m, but apple contract the 2415m which is a 2410 on a smaller socket, which in turn produces less heat. same goes with the 2635qm back then (based off the 2630qm)

Seems overall kinda meh, but a printed board SSD with PCIe is a cool idea. It looks exactly like the DIMM boards.

the cores are flanked by the HD5000 gpu on 1 side and the dmi/pcie controller on the other.

People say apple is shit, but these mac airs are actually really good for everyday shit, I have the 2011 model and it still runs fine, but its still nothing like a classic beast

I just bought an Macbook Air-11 256GB 2013 new in the box last week and some claim that the SSD card is soldered to the board. Looks like I can swap the SSD board for a larger capacity one.
