HOW TO ALWAYS MAKE LAYUPS! Basketball Tutorial from Shot Science

DON'T LAY IT IN OVER THE FRONT RIM!!
--------------
In today's video, Coach Chase explains why you shouldn't lay the ball in over the front rim! So often we see young players going in for open layups and missing because they decided to go for STYLE POINTS INSTEAD OF ACTUAL POINTS. When you don't use the backboard on layups, you have to be much more accurate by making sure you get the ball DIRECTLY into the center of the rim. When you use the backboard, you simply need to lay the ball gently in the "SWEET SPOT" and the ball will always fall. Another bonus is that you get a vertical target to lay the ball against instead of a horizontal target above your head that you have to visualize hitting.
So if you're looking to score points, USE THE BACKBOARD! Going over the front rim may look cool, but can frequently get you in trouble. BE SMART, Team!!
