How to Replace Bissell Spotclean Pro Hose

This video shows how I replaced a broken hose on a Bissell Spotclean Pro carpet cleaner. The old hose was dry rotted and split apart at the handle. Luckily this is a pretty simple fix.

Excellent instructions, thank you. Just a couple of points: Suggest using a #1 Phillips screwdriver with a 6" shank to get at those hard-to-reach screws. Just a straight slip-joint pliers works better on the 3-tabbed hose clip rather than needle nose pliers. And don't forget to wrap the spring coil with the water hose around the post before refitting the top. When removing the sticker from the reel, slip a small flat head screwdriver from the bottom where there is an opening behind the sticker. Finally, for those who think the hose is deteriorating because of the pinch point: I have stored my hose draped over a sink (no pinch point) and it still cracked at the handle after about three years. It's probably a combination of the hose getting stiffer with age and the vigorous action of using it on carpet or upholstery. It's a good vac, but they could have made it much quieter. I wish vac marketing would refrain from trying to associate noise with power. Thanks again for the video.

Dude this is hands down the best No yapping, just straight to the point, concise and easy to follow!!! Only recommendation I have is if anyone is REALLY struggling to pull out the T valve, put it in some hot water for a few seconds and it’ll slide right off

Thank you, these instructions worked great and were exactly what I needed! The whole thing took me less than 20 minutes, even with a rusted bolt inside on the motor cover. Also as an added bonus, the new hose is way more flexible than the one I had before. I'd had the hose replaced at an appliance repair store about 5 years ago. I think they charged me about $140 at that time for the repair and used a bad aftermarket hose that cracked apart after a few years. Many thanks to the fiX files channel!!!
