Good repair Brian, like you said if it went together then there has to be a way to take it apart. I too was thinking that it was going to be like a "screw together" connection with the hose and cleaning brush. That should last a long time if the hose is not coiled around the machine for storage. Thanks for the repair video, I am sure that many will feel more confident in repairing their torn hoses. Thumbs UP to you!

Great video. I made the repair twice. Turns out the hose is so dry rotten that even if you cut it away it snaps again in the same place. Time to order the new hose. No regrets, I learned a bit about my machine. Thanks for the video.

Nice repair! I may suggest to initially get the hose off from the handle instead of prying it off I found an easier way.
Get a couple of small ball bearings and put them in the 2 holes. Small piece of masking tape to hold them in place. Now using a wide pair of Channel Locks, squeeze them together, that allows the tab to release. You may need a helper to wiggle the hose around, or slightly twist it so it doesn't go back into the holes. From there, it slips right out.
I'm repairing the same machine and I'm at the point of hose stub removal. I wish they didn't glue it in place. And was hoping that the hose retainer would unscrew or snap out like a Shop Vac would do. Hope that helps someone to get the hose off. Thank you for your video!!

You nailed it man. I've got a different model with the same hose system. They designed a different hose storage holder but it led to this exact same problem with the pinch point. I couldn't find the house under $40 for awhile so i chose to take it apart and see what could be done. Repaired it the exact same way as you. After watching the replacement videos i can say that "without a doubt" this is the easier solution to the problem. The replacement of the hose isn't hard, but its much more difficult than just fixing the hose. Great video buddy.

THANK YOU MAN! Saved my bissell from a visit to the repair under warranty. One tip for removing the hose attachment from the body (two annoying clips), use a heat gun to slightly heat up the plastic, and it should pop right off since its a bit more flexible.

Thank you for this video! I did a modified version of this fix where I didn't take it completely apart. I just cut the hose at the tear, (while being careful not to cut the tubing), peeled out the remainder of the bad hose section by twisting with my needle nose pliers, and threaded the good hose section back in. I don't have any glue so I just threaded it tightly and taped it on real good. If it's an issue I'll go back in and glue it.

Thank you for this video. You saved me time and money. I can now repair it in less time than it would take to just order a new hose.

I had the exact same problem with my bissell little green proheat. This video was great and so much quicker than ordering in a new part!

I do not typically comment on anything, however I do appreciate your video. Spotclean had the typical tear in hose. Needed it today for a cleanup. Searched for a fix and found replacement but I need to use the machine today not in 3 days when I can get a new hose. ALSO, to open the machine up seems like a pain in the a**. Thought "why can't I just cut off the end and fix it there"? Your video answered my question, and in 10 minutes and back together and cleaning. Much appreciated and keep it up.

Great job Brian and no leaks and extra parts left over like I have sometimes 😂. But seriously Brian very informative, thanks and I hope you and the family have a great weekend .

Wish I would have seen this before I spent 40 dollars on a new one. I had it apart same as you. Just couldn't figure out how to get that last little bit of hose out of the plastic. Oh well, I have a new hose now. Think I'll fix the old one and have a spare. Thanks. Great video.

Thank you for this, allowed me to repair mine. I was unable to pry the hose apart with a screw driver, had to drill out the tabs holding it together, but not a big deal, just epoxied them in when I reassembled.

You da man! I just ordered a replacement hose and it’s arriving today, but I’m gonna try fixing it like you showed and will just keep the hose as a backup.

This is a known defect in this model and Bissell won't change the design. I have seen these hoses break in as little as 2 months use.

Thank you for showing how to fix the hose instead of just replacing it with a new one. I'm not sure the ABS cement worked very well but I'll let it dry and test it out tomorrow.

Excellent job - thank you! I hesitated buying this machine based upon the horrible hose longevity comments from users.... now, I am not afraid to move forward with the purchase.... knowing I can easily fix it. I definitely won't be storing the cleaning wand in the machine - that hard bend is definitely the biggest culprit to the hose cracking. I hesitate this next comment, because you did a great demo overall... but your choice of cutting tools weren't the greatest.... but that is a niggling point.
