Life i very comfortable if you have the means in the Philippines. Filipinos are kind by nature and respectful and mostly christians

America is still a great place to build wealth. Most aren't taught how. You need to learn how the game is played, and play it to win!

You're still kinda young. Why have you given up on the US so fast? If takes perseverance, hard work and patience to make it in the US. Things aren't handed to you on a silver platter.

I couldn't agree more, brother. USA is not as great as it was decades ago😢

It is the same here in Canada. I talk to alot of immigrants. They all say that they came here for a better life but they encounter the same BS as they did in their old country. I talk to alot of people that are concerned about the high amount of corruption in Canada.

Second generation Filipino immigrant family members did not experience the hardship of their parents before migrating. And I think this resulted in them to become more complacent and less diligent in working for their dreams, if they have any.

I agree Evan: I’m planning to retire in the Philippines in a few years

If financially you are already stable in the Philippines then I wouldn’t recommend migrating here in the USA but if you have a low paying job and couldn’t afford to buy a house or anything then abroad is better to earn a higher wage. At the end of the day, wherever you are in this earth, as long as you happy and contended then better to stay where you are.

It may be fading, but still a hell of a lot better than Philippines poverty. It's easy for privileged Americans to have an opinion and decide where to live. Not Filipinos.

I agree to disagree. I succeeded. Additionally, my child succeeded - a recent college grad, obtained a great job, yet still young to enough to wait purchasing a home in So Cal. It is up to an individual how hard they want to work to pursue their dream just like our parents and grandparents before. us. The US is still an ideal country to live and have a plethora of opportunity. It is up to the individual to want to achieve their dream.

What this boY IS Talking probably basing on his experience… THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE WHOM I KNEW PERSONALLY ENJOYING MUCH OF AMERICAN BENIFITS, BEAUTIFUL HOME take note not only one home, GOOD PAYING JOB, and their KIDS GOT THEIR COLLEGE DEGREE from US itself…
of course there’s no other place like your own being Filipino.
Bottom Line JUST BE GRATEFUL THAT YOUR FAMILY HAS BEEN WELCOMED, RESPECTED AND TREATED WELL BY US GOVT.

The health care system is very bad in the Philippines. You have to have money to get admitted in the hospital.

America is not for the lazy and weak. If you are educated, skilled and driven, you can get rich in US faster than in the Philippines.

Exactly you can get a college degree and a good paying job…… but you still not going to be able to afford a house and you definitely not going to be able to provide for a entire family by yourself like a man would 30-40 years ago. Kids will be educated by what’s politically convenient at the time and will probably come out of school more confused then they were before.

He is telling the truth, bcuz myself was one of the baby boomers of the 60's and everything has changed

When you look at home prices compared to income, the US is still one of the cheapest places on earth to buy a home with a home costing on average 4.5 times the average income. In some places, particularly in Asia, that multiple is 30+.
