I think you said you are Canadian born, on another vid, I have several family member's who moved to Canada, and they keep me posted about the very negative changes there, A once very safe country, has become more violent, and gun use not so scarce, as before.

perception is how most of us view things as opposed to cold hard facts -a strata of American society has a "Downton Abbey" view of the UK & quite a few people here in the UK have a "Wild West" view of the USA - im i the UK and whenever USA is mentioned Gun crime & medical bills automatically jump unaided into my minds eye. That is not a fully accurate or complete view of that country - but it's first things i always think of!

It's a great country in many ways it's just very sad they don't seem able to make any progress on the gun thing. If certain groups of people believe owning a firearm is a basic human right for pretty much everyone you will inevitably get school shootings etc.

The U.S. is diverse in many different ways. Safety is one of those ways. There are places you simply do not go because you are in danger from both the population and the police. There are many other places that are friendly, comfortable and full of opportunities. Other places are somewhere in between.

Good points, well-made, but there are good and bad points to living everywhere.
I always try to look at the positives in life.
If you leave your house to go anywhere you take a massive risk.
I've never been there, if I'm honest, so who am I to judge them?
America does seem to have some bad points when looking from the outside, but there is a massive amount of good there, as well as bad.
To judge somewhere you have to look at the whole thing.
I'll stop there before this turns into an essay.

So true, the gun thing is horrible, an embarrassment. Unfortunately we seem to be exporting it to other countries . So sad
