Ionic Interactions | Salt Bridge | Biomolecular Interactions | Dr. Nagendra Singh | PENS#31
#onlineclassroom #biomolecularInteractions #ionicBond
Biomolecular interactions, including contacts between biological macromolecules (protein/protein or protein/nucleic acids) and protein-ligand interactions are central to many disciplines of biotechnology. Ionic interactions are coulombic force between two opposite charged ions. In proteins acidic and basic groups interact through a combination of ionic and Hydrogen bond interactions together called as saltbridge.
In this lecture, Definition of electrostatic or ionic interactions, driving force, factors affecting strength of ionic interactions ( medium, temperature, pH etc ), saltbridge interactions and effect of ionic interactions on change in pK values of ions are discussed.

Sir what will happen if the 2 atoms come closer than their sum of vander Wal radius?? In the vedio you mention that they will repel each other. How???
