You know what absolutely kills me? When people skip dialog, skip reading, skip cutscenes, and smash next on all quests. Then complain that the game has no story or no content….

OMG is it ever, there's so much to do and see, I am 199% pleased with my purchase and the rollout was a TREAT compared to most other games.

As a new console player I'm loving NW.

It's the only game, after WoW, that hooked me that much so far. This game is very very good. Can't wait for the 2025 roadmap.

I’m so obsessed and passionate about this game. From 500 hours in eso on console this game blows it out of the water!!! Best console game out right now! not just MMO but in general

doing the math if you paid $60 for 75 hours of content you are paying 80 cents an hour for entertainment. That's a lot cheaper going to the movies.

As someone who doesn't care for MMO's with the exception of Star Citizen which is a love/hate relationship since 2016 lol, New World is definitely worth it. I was so happy to find out that I could solo all of the game. My only nitpick is this game needs photo mode. The game is too beautiful to not have some kind of photo mode.

Played on launch, played again with the expansion and playing again now.
At the end of the day, it's just a fun game, with great environments and fantastic atmosphere and sound.

I’ll just say, I had the misfortune of spending £45 on Undisputed, an unfinished piece of crap. Spending £50 on this has really restored my faith in gaming( PS5 player)

I just finished the MSG with the Isabella boss fight. It’s fantastic. Even though it took me about 12 tries to beat her. I’m going to go harvest and craft before I head to Brimstone Sands. I’m very impressed with the game. I played it at launch and when the dlc launched but never got past lvl 30. It didn’t click for me. This time around I’m satisfied with the game and look forward to future content

I started out as an occultist, but the game really hit its stride for me when I decided to make my own "class." I'm rocking axe and bow in a build I call the furious woodsman and it's been a blast. The biggest factor for me, outside of the Lost-like story is the movement. It's incredibly satisfying and feels fast and natural, but not overwhelming. The ability to theorycraft my own build with a combination of weapons, armor types and skill points is a huge improvement over the often stale (to me) class systems present in other MMOs. The game looks gorgeous on my big ass TV, and the crafting is very cozy and satisfying. Big ups!

It's kind of amazing the difference in the questing and story from the original release until now.

I was like you - i found the original questing obnoxious. Some of the worst i'd experienced. I know - the age old arguement about - if you're playing an MMO for the story you're doing it wrong (which I dont agree with incidentally - there's plenty of examples from guild wars to wildstar to old republic who have proven this wrong).

But New World - man. It was literally go to this location, find x cooking recipes for this NPC. No relevance to anything. No context, with a main story which felt like it'd been put together via chatgpt.

This new one - it's cohesive, the cinematics are well handled, fully voiced. I cant believe it.

I also cant believe just how well mounts are integrated - how well they're animated, sound, feel. Their balance between roads and off-road. ALL of it. Guild Wars 2 was the king of mounts for me, but I reckon these New World mounts are up there. They dont have the novelty of GW, but the way theyve been put into this game is honestly amazing - plus adds another layer to the already good game world.

Oh and that's another thing that was soooo bad in the original release - the quest pathing. You had the classic case of pick up a quest, go back to hub, repeat - but around some of the most horrible to navigate terrain. You'd be constantly having to go the long way around mountain ranges etc. It was utterly annoying.

Oh and finally - swimming! Christ - one thing originally - the fact your character would just walk along the bottom of a body of water until drowning was so bloody laughably bad. Just knowing it was there was an immersion killer. Ive barely used it in this new release, but the fact I can just makes all of it a non issue.

For me - a dude similar in age to you, but in Australia, I reckon this new version of the game is easily two thumbs up. Im a tad taken aback by all of this too - would not have predicted it.

I played og New World and I liked it but I was playing alone so I didn’t enjoy it as much, now that aeternum is out I can’t get off the game, so much fun, and I got friends to join and they’re loving it too

I currently only have the base game and have been enjoying the early game. I thought that the dlc gets me the mount, a new weapon type and a raid if I remember correctly, so I haven't felt the need to buy it yet.

Like I said I have enjoyed the base game so far but now I'm wondering if I'm missing on some other stuff too not having the dlc 🤔 Maybe I should actually buy it and not wait.
