day one 1500hr player here, dumped 55 hrs in the beta along side 2 friends who never played. the new version of the game is fucking awesome. very happy with its state now. my friends had a blast for their first time

while these changes are long overdue. I enjoyed the open beta. They have a solid foundation to build on. I hope they start focusing on the endgame now.

i binged this game on release loved it till endgame. Haven't come back since, tried the beta and it feels completely different. I would recommend any past players to come back for the update. Honestly when i started up the demo i realized how much i missed the game.

Never played new world before - i missed it because of covid - but i played until level 20 of the beta on the series X and really enjoyed it - i will be buying it - we got told that the standard version on console includes everything and no addiitonal content needs to be purchased, I think it will be worth the $89 to invest in with no monthly subs.

correct me if I'm wrong but didn't they add a new aim lock feature that auto locks targets in PvE and PvP, if so how does that make it more action based then before?

I had never played this game. Downloaded the beta and played with my son all weekend. It was fun enough that I woke up Tuesday wanting to jump right in and play. Now I have to wait for a month.

When I read the info on steam, it says that if you own the base game, but not the expansion, you still get the new perks from the upgrade, just not the expansion part (nor the new raid and pvp thing). Furthermore, it also says you would only need to buy the expansion to add the expansion content. It's mainly an upgrade to the already existing game.

played since launch till roughly January 2024. For all the new players - you will have a blast playing this game. Hopefully they do deliver more late game content with their roadmap announcement

town boards were never the primary exp source.. if you did gathering as well as questing you would level quite fast. though now i'm glad for the change, the game feels great in beta

Unfortunately, with target lock the action combat is no longer that. If they keep it enabled for PvP it’s going to be a disaster for any PvP player unfortunately. Solid points outside of that!

Haven't played since the last fresh start servers hit. Can't wait to start over, really want to play this game again. Gonna start over fresh for the third time lol
