A perfect storm is brewing in the United States.
Inflation, bank collapse, severe drought in the agricultural belt, recession, food shortages, diesel fuel and heating oil shortages, baby formula shortages, available automobile shortages and prices, the price of living place. It's all coming together and it could lead to a real disaster towards the end of this year (or sooner). With inflation currently at about 6%, my primary concern is how to maximize my savings/ retirement fund of about $300k which has been sitting duck since forever with zero to no gains.

I am an 85 year old American. Very concerned in the direction our country is going. It is very possible we will self - destruct. It will take some time but we are headed in that direction.

I'm 45 and over the course of the last 10 or so years, I've found it very difficult to be patriotic and there are a lot of reasons for how I feel and I have adult children in the military. it's difficult to tell who the bad guys are anymore.
I'm ashamed of our leadership and our justice system. it is shameful

I believe that patriotism died out in America when we stopped saying the pledge allegiance in our schools. As a veteran and a 68 year old man, It breaks my heart to see what's happening to this country. And, it's an insult and dishonorable to me and every person who's ever served in the armed forces.

It is one thing to dislike the flaws of your own country, but to act like it has never done something good and hate it with a burning passion is odd. If you don't like your own country, you can either fix what you think is wrong with it to improve it or move out. It is that simple.

My daughter used to believe in the wokeness of America, until now she is trying to find work. She literally was applying for a job at a university in Virginia and was told she needed to write a 1500 word essay about why diversity is important in the work place to go along with her application. This is INSANE!

I taught my kids to question everything if what was being told to them didn’t make sense to them. When my middle daughter was in 8th grade I got a call from her history teacher who asked me to talk to my daughter about correcting him in class in front of other students. He was peddling half truths and she called him on it and he didn’t like that. I told him if that I would tell her to discuss it privately after class with him but that he should be ashamed of himself for not telling the truth in class! If a 13 year old is capable of calling you out on your BS, you need to start telling the truth! BTW, he was discussing Lincoln, the Civil War and slavery.

I was born in Mexico. My parents brought me to the United States when I was 12 years old. I walked into 8th grade class not understanding anything anyone was saying to me. Fast forward 20 years later, I'm a USAF veteran, currently an airline captain. I've taught english in Vietnam for 2 years, moved to Cancun and lived there in 2022. I LOVE this country. I would not be able to do the things I have done in my life without my parents bringing me here. When we first got here I was mad at them. Now I don't even know how to thank them. This is THE best country in the world still, even with everything going on. VERY grateful to live in this country, the opportunities it has given me, and to my parents for making me do something I didn't want to do at the time. God bless America.

Just a couple days ago I saw someone convinced that if they see an American flag on a house, there’s some seriously racist stuff going on inside.
The joint effort by many in media, government and online who poisoned her mind is a huge problem for the future.

I was 5 years old when my family moved to the US from Jordan . We were a Christian family seeking a better life amongst other Christians . Life was absolutely wonderful in the 70’s-90’s. My family prospered and was living the American dream . Every morning at school I proudly took the pledge of allegiance daily and sang the Stars Spangled Banner. I’m 50 years old now with children of my own . Both my parents have passed and I can’t thank them enough for bringing me to the US. I’ve raised my kids to be proud Americans. We have the American flag out and have a deep appreciation for our Constitution. As my folks used to say in their broken English “God bless America”
