Enjoy working ? The hospitality industry in Greece especially in hotels has as working without day-offs the places you can work all year round are underpaying their workers. People are trying to survive in Greece they don’t enjoy working 😅 + that everything is expensive, the electricity the rent the expenses to feed ourselves .

I’m in Greece now. (4/15/2024) I’m in Athens enjoying the culture. The people here are warm and friendly and yes hard working.this my first trip in Europe.

I've been living in Greece for 20 years now and while I agree that Greeks work very hard, I completely disagree about Greeks loving to work.
They need to work so much, because the cost of living compared to the wages is very high and they don't have a good social security system.
When COVID hit and we all had to stay at home during the first lockdown most people really loved it, because they got a break. I heard nobody complain about missing work 😂
Anyways, Greeks are great people. I'm very grateful that I can live in Greece, even though it was quite a struggle between 2014 and 2019 and at the moment our family is facing the pleasure of panellinies (☠️☠️☠️).
I can't imagine living anywhere else.

Ι work the last 44 years and 99% of working days never worked less than 9 - 10 hours. No sick leaves at all .

I promise you no one loves working during Christmas or holidays in general, when instead of celebrating and being with our loved ones, we have to deal with long hour shifts and rude customers.

It's not only that we work a lot, it's also that we have insane pressure to be effective in our work environment. There's no such thing as chill work over there. I am so glad I left, work culture there is toxic. Don't you ever dare call us lazy, if you see us being lazy it's because we just finished getting fucked at work.

I honestly have no no idea how this notion has been being perpetuated. We work on average 9 hours, (many people 12), 5-6 days a week, for a salary that is not enough for someone to pay rent and live on their own.
I remember back in 2010 when the crisis had really settled in and we were having several sui©ides a day because people were being let off, I had two separate Dutch tourists coming to me when I served them drinks and say "so, we're paying for you now". I swear, I don't know how I didn't punch them. At the time, I couldn't even afford food and was secretly eating at work the chips we were serving customers.
Right now I own a business, work 15 hours a day, and at 40 I still need to live with my elderly mom coz neither of us can afford to live on our own.
So, to conclude, next time you open your mouth to say something like that, either rethink it and zip it, or be prepared to be punched. People are really struggling, don't be ignorant and insensitive.

Iam Frome Greece.. Athens. Iam working even Sundays to the construction. I own the business but still working more than my employers every time

We are working straight hours without having a break, more than 8 hours per day and more days per week, for low salaries just to be called lazy. Thank you for your support 🙏🏾
