A film of this scale demands to be seen within our modern day colosseum’s, movie theaters, and commands the attendance of spectators the world round to bear witness.

I like this making of bit better than the trailers. The general talk about how twenty years of chaos have affected Rome is a more interesting hook than nostalgia for the first film. Also Denzel Washington describing it as "Cecil B De Mille on steroids" is appealing.

In my 26 years of existence I’ve never seen the first as I was spoiled the film as a kid, so I never had the need to watch it, but now that a sequel is coming out I might double dip and watch both back to back

"Cecil B. DeMille on Steroids" 🤣 The Ten Commandments (1956) used over 14, 000 extras and 15, 000 animals. Gladiator 1 had 2, 000 and the crowds were CG, this new one has to be probably a fraction of the original and nowhere even close to Cecil B Demille standards, neither is the direction style to be frank nor the acting.
