Stress is not experienced when we have to work for long hours or when we find that the work at hand is too difficult to handle. It's experienced when we are attracted to the result and apprehend whether the result will be upto our expectation or not. So, the best method to alleviate stress is to give up attachment to the result of the work. How can we give up attachment and develop detachment? Our rational thinking does not help. The answer is found in the magic words of Bhagavad Gita, where Shri Krishna is saying to Arjun, whatever you are doing, do it as a sacrifice unto Me. - 'tat-kurushva mad-arpanam' and by that you will always remain stress-free.

In Bhagavad Gita Shree Krishna said Arjun do your duty, don't be attached to the fruits of the efforts. Stress is not because of hard work.But when mind is attached to the outcome, it becomes Stress.
