As a person who has an ipad air m3 for work. Its just not as powerful as a macbook and the software on an ipad is not a fully desktop

if i needed something for everyday productivity (emails, task managing, content consumption) i would 100% go with an ipad + magic keyboard, but as a graphic designer i need a powerful laptop so i went with the m4 macbook pro paired with an old ipad without a keyboard case

got the m4 mba since 3/17/25. loving it so much and i’m glad i sold my M1 iPad Pro for the mba. MacOS is so much better and flexible than iPadOS. but it all depends on what you need

I feel pricing and real estate doesn’t matter much here. Depends on what you do. The MacBook will always have more options available to you. External screens, more freedom as to how you use it.
iPads are great for a set amount of things but laptops will always be the most versatile imo

I think it completely depends on your needs. If you are doing content creation or something then obviously the MacBook. But if your just on social media and watching or drawing, then the ipad
