Part 2 of 3 - Video presentation of a hive inspection/reconfiguration for fall managent. Presented by Kevin & Daniel Inglin; Kevin of the Northwest New Jersey Beekeepers Association (NWNJBA).

The weather didn't cooperate during this video shoot but the principles of a reconfiguration and inspection are overviewed. Includes moving brood in bottom box and preparing honey and pollen for overwintering. See the video Fall Management - Arranging a Hive for Overwintering for a summary of what was attempted here and the concept of the hive configuration.

The hive survived overwinter and we didn't see evidence that the queen was superceded in the late season. The hive was small coming out of winter but rebounded extremely well in the soft winter and abundant spring. We didn't need to feed it and it's in pretty good shape right now as we head into fall.

What happened with this hive over the winter? With so many queen cells so late in the year, were they just trying to make a better queen for themselves, and did they succeed?

You stated, "Here's what I know, that this hive has all of it's brood in the top." You do NOT know this,
since you made this accolade before accessing the lowest brood chamber.
As a first year BEEK, I am far from impressed by your videos and lack of expertise and was hoping for better info on youtube from NWNJBA.
