This was their first Top 40 hit in the US, in 1974. A year later, "Bohemian Rhapsody" came out, and the rest is history. I recommend "You're My Best Friend" for your next one. For your next Meat Loaf song, I recommend "I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)".

The great thing about Queen is that all 4 of them wrote nr1 hits, not just Freddie, even bassplayer John Deacon, the quiet guy, wrote some of the biggest hits like "Aother one bites the dust", "You're my best friend" and, "I want to break free"

"She keeps her Moet & Chandon in a pretty cabinet...Well-versed in etiquette...she spoke just like a baroness...fastidious and precise, she's a killer queen." Brilliant lyrics, really unique for a rock band.

For theatrics, you should watch Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballé sing “Barcelona”. Amazing.

Queen did the soundtrack for the movie “Highlander” which is one of the reasons I love that movie! “Who wants to live forever” and “Princes of the Universe” are two of my favorites from the movie!

This was the first Queen song I ever heard. Such a great song. One can never get enough of Queen

One of the best guitar riffs you’ll ever hear is on “Tie your Mother Down”. Don’t let the lyrics scare you, just a lot of metaphors…the guy just wants some space. 😁

"Death on two legs" is my favorite song by Queen.

Still, you have to watch Queens Live Aid set. Arguably the best set of all time!

Freddie is a charismatic showman and what an incredible voice. Queen was amazing!

Queen’s last hit with Freddie Mercury, recorded when his health was really declining - “The Show Must Go On”. Musically awesome, emotionally heavy, and embodies Freddie Mercury’s persistence perfectly.

“The Red Special" as Brian May's guitar is called or sometimes “The Fireplace.” That’s the guitar that Brian May (guitarist of Queen and physics researcher) began building with his father circa 1963, when Brian was about 16 years old. Lacking money but not ingenuity, the father-son team built the guitar using materials found around the home. The neck of the guitar was fashioned from an 18th-century fireplace mantel, the inlays on the neck from a mother-of-pearl button. For the body, they used wood from an old oak table. Then the bricoleurs combined a bike saddlebag holder, a plastic knitting needle tip, and motorbike valve springs to create a tremolo arm. He still plays it as of last night at the Queen + Adam Lambert concert in Belfast Ireland.

For a little softer side of Queen, check out "You're My Best Friend". It is truly lovely.

One of my favorite facts is that Brian May, the lead guitarist, built the guitar he uses. He also has a PhD in astrophysics from Imperial College London.

The first song I ever heard by Queen was "Keep Yourself Alive". I believe it was one of their first.

You guys REALLY need to check out "Stone Cold Crazy" by Queen. It's such a banger, Metallica even did a cover of it!! You won't be disappointed.

Still sounds great 48 years on I think this was their second hit after Seven Seas Of Rye

I literally pulled my car over to listen when this came on the radio. I had never heard anything like this before. The vocals and the guitar tone blew me away! I was 18 when this came out.
