Nothing makes me feel older than hearing "this is a classic my dad put me on when I was little." 😆

The Story goes like this.
In the video, you have the Feel Good Inc tower where 3 of the band members are stuck, then you have the windmill island where the 4th member and guitarist (Noodle) is just chillin'. The tower is in the shape of a syringe pen and represents drugs and partying. The windmill island represents peace and serenity. 2-D, the singer wants out of the tower where people are just passed out on the floor. Every time 2-D starts to feel this way, De La Soul starts rapping and the band starts partying again. The rappers in this case represents drugs. Nonstop drugs and parties is wearing on the band as they still long to reunite with Noodle on the windmill island.
The visuals of all their videos are actually episodes in their crazy story together.

Seeing people listen to gorillaz for the first time is so surreal when you’ve heard them your whole life. Makes you realise how much you take it for granted though, that whole track is so tight from the bass lines to to the genre mix

“This is an old ass song too.” Now that makes me feel old! I bought Demon Days on CD when it came out and remember hearing it on the radio all the time. Glad to see Gorillaz are still gaining fans.

Gorillaz is a 2 person group: 1 is Damon Albarn (former Singer of Blur) who handles (most of) the music and has lots of collabs on the tracks. Second is Jamie Hewlett (creator of Tank Girl comic) who is in charge of the visuals and they do what they want which is to the benefit of all of us:)

I think the song is about how popular culture is creating a "feel good factory" while the guitar playing girl who is left alone is the one who actually feels serenity and the windmill represents that happiness is eternal, you just need to find it. Gorillaz is a lot about that kind of message.

The 90s and early 2000s were all about stepping beyond musical categories, especially coming out of the UK, so many incredible unique sounds, The Prodigy, Massive Attack, Tricky, Basement Jax, Groove Armada. The Clubs were all playing a housified fusion, of litteraly every genre. Such a great time to be alive!

Dirty Harry and Clint Eastwood should be the next songs you check out by the Gorillaz.

Fun Fact - Gorillaz consists of Damon Albarn (lead singer from Blur) and Jamie Hewett (the artist). They have collaborated with De La Soul, Deltron 3030(aka "Del the funky homosapien" to the casual listener), Mos Def, Elton John, Jack Black, RZA, Popcaan, and many many many more.

In their videos they have had acting performances from people such as Bruce Willis to Ace of the Gang Green Gang from Powerpuff Girlz.

The only "band" in the world that isnt held back to 1 or 2 genres. Gorillaz dont have a genre, they are their own genre.

DE LA SOUL: THAT IS THE GROUP RAPPING IN THE SONG!!! If you look them up, you’ll see them and by like, “OMG, that is them!” 😂🎉 It’s a nice throwback to a forgotten group of amazing and fun rappers. I loved De La Soul’s vibe. It was great hearing their voices again! By the way, you’ll never see the actual artists behind the anime-styled musicians. If I’m correct, the creators of Gorillaz wanted a purely animated band. Which I think is dope!!!

I'll never forget when Gorillaz debuted. What a time! Couldn't go anywhere without hearing this song or Clint Eastwood.

Guys doing the rapping are O.G rap group De La Soul. In 2005 this song was huge on the charts for damn near a year 😁

This song is about the things people do in order to make themselves feel good. The song seems to focus on the darker side of pleasure like addictions and habits, but then the chorus comes in and it seems to say that you should stop thinking about what makes you feel good and try to love others to make them feel good

Gorillaz has no genre, they’re versatile and can blend different genres like rap, EDM and such

Gorillaz is lead by a man named Damon Albarn. He was a brit pop punk sensation before he made Gorillaz. That's why he hid his face. He didn't want his old fan base to follow him. He is Blur. Listen to "Song 2". It's him at a young age. This is why I think he is the best artist. He got popular young, and then he realized he didnt want people to think of him in that way. So he completely reinvented himself. What a ARTIST!

Edit; Dirty Harry and Clint Eastwood should be the next songs you react to.

Can't go wrong with Gorillaz, they won't fit in any genre box for more than a song or two, collab with everyone, hope you all do more.
