BMW 1 Series review (2011 to 2019) | What Car?

The BMW 1 Series is one of the best small family cars you can buy because it’s hugely desirable, good to drive and surprisingly cheap to run.

The only rear-wheel-drive hatch in the class scores with a strong combination of performance, economy and CO2 emissions. It handles well and rides comfortably, too.

Are there any downsides? Overly quick and light steering can make the 1 Series feel slightly nervous at speed. The pedals are offset to the right, so getting comfortable behind the wheel can be tricky.

Bought a BMW 125i M Sports (2016) - loving this car - a brilliant commuter and a great touring car too. The rear space is only adequate for two adults and is tight, but otherwise for two with occasional passengers excellent. Poised on the road - m sports suspension is perfect and the engine is rapidly responsive and versatile. My previous car was a Mazda 3 (SP25) and the difference in quality, refinement and performance is very significant.

It's annoying how UK reviews often make a big deal about pedals being offset vs the steering wheel without mentioning that this solely applies to UK with right-side steering...

This car isn't listed on the USA site.  Doesn't seem as appealing as the previous 1 on first glance but it does have some nice front end refinement

I purchased a new BMW 1 in 2013 in Portugal that this 2017 /2018 winter put water in the suitcase and destroyed various electrical systems due to a defect in fence, besides having put in question my safety and my family.

The BMW dealer in Portugal, Caetano Retail of V.N.Gaia assumes no liability despite all the revisions being made religiously in the mark and the problem is notoriously a manufacturing defect.

I intend to solve the problem according to the premium service with which I have always been accustomed by BMW.

he said 1.6 liter in 120i model .. that is incorrect, 120i has 2.0 liter engine with 180hp

the 120i is actually a 2.0L not 1.6 and so is the 125i. Also he said 116d twice lol

50mpg? If i'm careful in my 118i I get 35mpg if I drive how I wanr I get 30mpg.

That sounds incorrect.
